Tim Cook, the executive who led Apple to become a $4 trillion company and defined its identity in the post-Steve Jobs era, is stepping down as CEO, Apple said on Monday.
John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering, will take over as CEO effective September 1. Cook will become executive chairman of Apple’s board of directors and will remain as CEO through the summer to ensure a smooth transition, the company said.

For those of you complaining that this was long overdue, may I remind you of this and that you should have bought Apple stock years ago and maybe you wouldn’t complain. Under Cook, Apple’s market cap grew from $350 billion to $4 trillion, more than 1,000% increase; meanwhile revenue quadrupled, from $108 billion in 2011 to $416 billion in 2025.
It‘s a bit surreal that Tim Cook „already“ steps down having the feeling he just stepped in to replace Steve Jobs. How time flies! But it’s good news to hear that a „product guy“ like John Ternus takes over. Apple needs a products person as CEO – because in the end, success comes out of great products, not marketing. Godspeed!

I hate to say this but…. if Steve Jobs were still alive today, every other car on the road today would be an Apple Car. The only thing of relevance that has come out of Apple since Jobs passed away was an Apple watch. The watch was mediocre at best. Apple is no longer the pioneer of new age tech. They are now the follower. For instance, their next new product is going to be glasses. In days of the past, Apple would have been first to market that.
