‘Hungry all the time’: US Navy denies food shortages after grim photos emerge • FRANCE 24 English

The US Navy has fiercely denied claims that its warships in the Middle East are running low on food and leaving its sailors “hungry all the time”, as Washington’s blockade in the Strait of Hormuz continues. Photos reportedly sent from onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and Tripoli were shared by newspaper USA Today, as families worried their loved ones were going hungry. Both the US Navy and defence secretary refuted the claims as “false”. Vedika Bahl takes a look in Truth or Fake.

  1. "you send troops to war with the pantry you have . . . . not the one you wish you had" – Trump, probably

  2. Oh no, war criminals are getting crappy food?? 😱
That they continue to be war criminals despite being treated like this, really shows how dedicated they are, to making America to the most despised nation.

  3. This is probably just a logistics issue, I imagine supplying a carrier is very difficult, especially in this region at this time, and this war hasn't seemed to be very well prepared by the US so far. It seems like they expected this to be over sooner and now they have to scramble to get the resources in place to keep it going. Of course the current administration would deny this, even a perveived lack of strength weakens their negotiating position.

  4. At the rate tDrump keeps extending his "dead;ines", our sailors will be on bread and water pretty soon.

It's not a logistics issue. It's an extended deployment problem. Even powdered milk, eggs and poridge run out eventually.

  5. Hmm. I kinda skeptical about this one. The current us navy feeds the brig prisoners better than that. Im not buying it.

  6. And alot of those guys, especially flight deck crew needs about 3000 calories per day just to get thru their shift. We would be hearing about alot of mishaps if this report were true.

  7. It's not money. It's supply. Some of the ships have been deployed for almost a year. Carriers have up to 6,000 personnel. That's a shitton of food. It has to be delivered, unless they go to a port situated for US supply. From the photos, they ARE running out.

  8. I often think of how the roman forces were ordered to leave Londinium, at the end of the roman empire. Now again.

  9. The current incarnation of the US Military sees soldiers as mindless, nameless fodder for wars that serve the oligarchy and do nothing to secure the safety of the United States. Change my mind.

  10. I'm a USMC veteran in "Supply & Logistics". And I know for a fact, because I have seen those pictures before, that the pictures the Navy posted of abundant food supplies are stock photos from the Navy's food service page in the recruitment articles. They are throwing shade and hiding the truth of what is happening on these ships.

  11. I'd quit immediately. USA Military breached it contract if not feeding crew 3 proper meals a day! That's inhumane and it's criminal

  12. 😂France is trying to dis us. But they will never top Gen. Schwarzkopf who said, Going to war without the French is like going hunting without an accordion. Touché.

  13. Useless report. Taking four minutes to belabor both sides of a claim/counterclaim when you have no idea which is true is disgraceful.
