  1. The place looks like an experience in itself.
Seem like the food prices are 50% the food and 50% paying for the rent of that lovely place.

  2. The gravy spoiled it .I hate piss water gravy and that beef is cut to thick thats why it's chewy I wouldn't go there

  3. Excellent and honest review. However I dont think that was gravy, it looked like jus, which is acceptable with beef. However the custard is supposed to be creamy and thick with a steamed pudding.

  4. Another amazing trip down memory lane, thank you so much for sharing this with us! I particularly love your frank honesty, telling it as it is, and not being afraid to point out the truth when necessary.

  5. Robby I watch all the best food blogs but you are the best food review ever
I've also noticed that they are going to your places that's how brilliant you are xx

  6. Hi Robbie.. Simpsons looks like the overlook hotel in the shining. Very honest review. Up north we like thicker gravy and custard.a place like that should not let it's food down.. bet you still had a good time though..๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  7. Itโ€™s definitely changed. I used to be the pianist in simpsons back in 2015. The piano used to be in the corner infront of where you were sitting. It looks like the food has declined in quality. They used to have a chef who only made the gravies. It took days to mature back then

  8. If the Beef was cooked for 10 hours, someone needs to tell them the oven wasn't working and the gravy, well, just… no.

  9. Yorkshire puds need to be small otherwise they burn
And londoners have no idea about gravy
Food and places to eat very different
Photo choice or good food. !!

  10. I don't comment very much on any channel but I have seen a number of your videos and am impressed. I'm 77 years of age and I am extremely impressed with you. Such a young man producing such an informative and enjoyable approach to a variety of eating around the country. Lots of places that very few people know about. Great content. I love thank you I'll keep watching.

  11. Prawn cocktail done well is a truly special thing & a lovely trip down memory lane ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿค๐Ÿฆ

  12. Evening Robbie, lunch with a legend ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ. Was taken to Simpsons, many years ago by one of my old chefs. The experience has stayed with me. Sadly can't remember what I felt about the meal. Have promised myself a return visit, bringing my son with me. Your honest review has raised a few questions in my mind. To have the old-fashioned eaterie given a new lease of life, and the amount of cash used to refub the dear old lady, has been well spent. However, the theatre and the show is not the whole reason for dinning there. And it seems some of the food was lacking in the quality one should expect. Never really like having to prepare my own prawns ๐Ÿฆ or have my bread buttered ๐Ÿ˜ข. Now the trolley,a supurb looking joint of beef. Personally I would have preferred to see the crust of well seasoned fat still attached. Obviously couldn't tell if the plate was hot ๐Ÿค”? The liquid, refuse to say gravy. Was a disgrace. I was happy to see you serve yourself the vegetables and potatoes. Creating a proper looking dish. A fair portion of mixed vegetables. For the first service of the day, all aspects of the meal should have been ๐Ÿ’ฏ %. Will I still go ๐Ÿค” I think so. Living history should not be ignored. Enjoyed the video. Catch up with you in the next video Allan&Family

  13. In my experience huge Yorkshire Puddings have more style than substance. In my late Nanโ€™s words โ€œall fur coat and no knickersโ€! ๐Ÿ˜‚

  14. You have to be brutally honest. Otherwise
Whatโ€™s the point of the channel iff you ainโ€™t. Great video as always. Me and the misses are going Oslo court next Friday night.๐Ÿ˜‰ we love a praw cocktail to. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  15. They do need to listen to positive criticism. Get that food and service up to scratch and it should be a must for those wanting a special meal/occasion and of course visitors that provide so much $$ to unique offerings. Now, glad to see no elbows! I did do a quick quizz on community kitchens and popped them into a reply. Also I want a review of oyster beach shacksโ€ฆthe real ones on the beach. Suggested this to Greeno. He did one of Rileyโ€™s. There appears to be a location (W somewhere) assuming oyster spots. In this mode, are there pop up beach shacks type happening during spring and summer? I would watch that content.
