  2. Idaho here, west of Boise. Did inventory and need to get more: honey, spices, ancient grains like einkorn & khorsan, & garden seeds. Hopefully buying fruit this summer to freeze dry. Pray & fast that this next winter brings a lot more snow.

  3. For city dwellers, local farms sell bulk veg and fruit tgat can be preserved

Co-op buying bulk and splitting with families

    Micro greens and patio gardens

  4. These People are Right On.
    Listen to them

Get in touch with the Local Farm
    Or Co-opreyive Extension Office.
    Most places have these.
    Check them out.
    Kudos to this Family.
    Thank You

  5. Hey Americans. Guess where most of your fertilizer comes from… the country to the north of you who your government is constantly threatening and imposing tarrifs on.

  6. I live in sub tropical Queensland (Australia) and I have been refurbishing & planting out my winter crops. I can't grow much here over summer because of the weather – very hot, humid, lots of rain and bugs. So my growing season is over the cooler months. I also keep chickens and buy my beef & lamb directly from the farmers. I have also been food preserving & stocking my pantry. Fuel prices here have been horrendous $US12 per gallon

  7. Not really sure why preppers are giddy that we have a food shortage? I'm upset that Trump and his broligarchs have taken things to this level. There is nothing cute about famine across the world so these people could make some extra bucks for their cronies. Just follow the law and stop being vultures.

  8. There are enough prepper channels bragging about what you have, and we need to do what you do or we will die. I guarantee I'm better off than you. Quit telling people who can't afford to do what you do or they will die. Go away.

  9. Not just shortages but rot. Bought an eggplant. Next day it was rotting.
Bought tomatoes. Cut them open and they were rotted.
Bought peppers.and seeds were all black inside.
    These were three different stores.

  10. We just planted some more perennials blueberry, blackberry, raspberry. Our water crisis is severe in South Texas but we have rain catchment and finally got a good rain.

  11. I feel you with chocolate!!! My life revolves around books and chocolate. I have plenty of books but how am I supposed to survive without chocolate?? 🫣🤪

  12. This is so wonderful. As always, I appreciate all you are doing to help others prepare! We are getting a Jersey cow next month who will be having a calf right after we get her. So we are going to be jumping right into milking a cow and everything that entails! Nervous but excited!!

  13. In TX, just got back from the store. Know grocery prices continue to climb but was shocked to see 80/20 hamburger meat for $6.99 a lb!

  14. During hard times, having something that you enjoy (A.K.A. chocolate) is a small bit of creature comfort. We have cut back on how much I bake, make small batches, making smaller meals, etc. I started making biscuits, as those can freeze and be seen as mini loaves of bread.

  15. I you tuberbI wstch has been complaing of the freshness of bell oeppers in her E.tenn area, what shes showed is very nasty looking, end of season, start of new season? Id begetting frozen. Very glad im csrnivorre, planning to up the canned mest supply next psydsy!

  16. I’m out of work right now I was sent home by the company on a short term disability which is 60 percent of my normal pay so we have been rotating our pantry out here at home and at our off grid cabin the meats mostly and the beans and potatoes at both places and the freezer too we are replacing them as much as we can but were hanging on y’all lol !!

  17. Also lol we have been buying keystone canned meats too we actually made chipped beef with gravy on toast with keystone sliced beef a small can and a pouch of thick country gravy too three pieces of toast and the meat and gravy on it wow it was very good and filling too with mashed potatoes yes !!

  18. My only way to control rotations is to keep lists along with best by dates. The first time is a pain, but from then on it's just updates. Each area has its own schedule (like freezer top shelf). Like everything, I started with one system and it changed over the years to one that works better with less effort. When I pull from longer term, I know what date I'm looking for. I note the last inventory date for each section. The system's made easier by 1) marking the BB date in the same spot on each item. I do this before the item goes into storage (thank goodness for my phone magnifier!); and 2) using the voice memo app on my phone when I just go through a section (typically 5 min or less). I update the list in the evening when things have calmed down. I use the upcoming expiration items to plan meals and also to shine a light on things that are bought but rarely used. Some of these items end up getting donated. I definitely shop the sales on good quality chocolate, which never get close to the best buy dates! 😂
My goal in the next few weeks is to begin doing inventory for my medical supplies. These seem to expire so quickly. I always check to see if it's ok to use something after the expiration date, but get surprised by how old some of these items get.

  19. Live near oaks? Acorns are very nutritious, IF you know how to get tannins out. Need clean water. Arthur Haines has excellent videos on these types of wild/ancestrally appropriate diets.

  20. I would like to make sourdough bread. It was invented by the ancient Egyptians. It was the only leavening agent before yeast. In medieval times people survived on sourdough bread; cheeses that were aged in mountain caves; wild foraging; farms; hunting. There was no power grid, no gas no oil and they survived.

  21. CA here. My biggest concern is medication that I will literally die without! Otherwise I'm prepping. I've got a 3 bdrm 2 bath for Myself. I'm using one room for storage. It's cool and dark. I typically only eat one time a day, so I don't believe I'm a 2k calorie a day person. And if I have to eat rice daily, I'm not going to be eating a lot.
I've heard that China is waiting for the US to run out of ammo and bombs to then take US down and join up with Iran 🤷🏼‍♀️ But, I'm staying strong in Jesus 🙏 we've got a long road ahead and it doesn't look good. Too many people are clueless, especially big MAGA believers. 🙄
    Evil 😈
    Thank you! 😊

  22. Dang, I live in an apartment. Wish I could keep chickens and have space for 1+ years supply 😞
