Volga Bar in Kadavanthra, Kochi is one of the oldest restaurant bars in Kerala and is famously known as the first bar in Kerala to feature Cabaret dance performances decades ago. Even after more than 60 years, this iconic Kochi restaurant still attracts food lovers, nostalgia seekers, and people curious about Kerala’s nightlife history.

During our visit, we explored their stylish rooftop dining space that surprisingly stayed cool even in the harsh Kochi summer. The place had a unique Goan beach shack vibe, making it one of the most interesting rooftop restaurants in Kochi. We also interacted with their senior chef who has been working here for more than 45 years, making the experience even more special.

We tried some of their most popular dishes including chilli pork dry, Kerala pork fry, ginger prawns, mixed fried rice, dragon chicken, honey glazed chilli chicken, mixed noodles, beef dry fry, barbeque roast pork, braised pork, and chilli chicken. Their ginger prawns stood out the most, while the braised pork and chilli pork dry were equally delicious.
