Trying Every Restaurant on the NYT 2025 Top 100 List – Okiboru House of Tsukemen
Okiboru House of Tsukemen is known for ramen and tsukemen, which are noodles you dip into a rich broth on the side. I really enjoyed my meal here, but with so many strong noodle spots in NYC, it wouldnβt be at the very top of my personal list

Naruto would've loved thisβ€
The AC was a paid actor
As much as people love Ichiran, I respectfully disagree as I think there is much better for that price point such as Tonchin or even Ivan.
Was about to say the production is ballin yall got a wind machine in the restaurantπ«π€―π
Here before andrew!
Tsukemen > ramen
π
I too am eating ramen, but I bought mine at H Mart. ππ€ͺ
As a vegetarian, Ichiran NY made it possible for me to even have that flavour profile, so they deserve some wins. I still remember the dismay of going to Ichiran in Japan and realizing I couldn't have anything.
For Tsukemen, I'd recommend checking out Menkoi Sao, Tabetomo, or Taishoken. All have spicy options also
Im not feeling well, so for now it's a top ramen and boiled egg at home. π
Had a damn near religious experience here in February. I live in Boston, which is low on tsukemen spots, and was determined to find the best, think I did!! π
That THICK broth looks drinkable lol π
I know you keep track of everything through the Beli app but even so, your ability to recall which restaurant for which specific dishes is truly a feat in my eyes π
So you made a point to bring up that the tontori wasn't a spicy broth but they do offer a spicy addition for like a dollar extra.
Pronounced su-KEN-men
Damn, what an annoying voice…
I like how you're honest, and also it highlights one of the downfalls of having 'a list' because it places specific restaurants above others and the reality is there's lots of good restaurants that are all on the same level. As you mentioned this is a good noodle spot and it's on par with two others that you like that aren't on the list.
Come to Seattle!!
I only recently learned that apparently in Japan growing up you are taught NOT to eat/drink the ramen broth because it is too salty and bad for you?!?
