I TRIED TO BREAK DENMARK’S ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT TART RECORD…UNBEATEN FOR 12 YEARS! | BeardMeatsFood

In this week’s episode, I’m attempting to crack the record for traditional Danish tart’s at one of Denmark’s wackiest restaurants…Cafe Alto…

Brave pastry paladins get one sitting in which to finish as many of Cafe Alto’s famous chicken and asparagus tarts as possible…if you can break the record (which has been held by a Danish fella for over twelve years) you get a prestigious spot atop their wall, a bottle of champers, some decorative cutlery and the adulation of it’s plentiful lunchtime customer base!

This is another of my favourite episodes of all time…not least because of how unique the whole thing was; the food, the decor, the staff, the prizes and of course…the customers…so I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did making it…

  1. This is my favourite episode of the year so far…so I very much hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did filming it…

I’m not usually the soppy sort, but I really want to give a sincere message of thanks to anyone who’s watched the channel lately…the view count has been far more than I deserve over the last few months; in fact I saw a statistic which showed that this was somehow the second most watched food channel in the whole world during the month of April…and I’d like you all to know that I’m incredibly grateful for your unbelievably consistent support…

I’m taking to the skies again tonight, in order to do my best to repay your dedication, by…well…filming some more videos…so if I’m a little less active in the comments than usual, I hope you’ll let me off…

I’d be over the moon to see you this time next week, until then, stay insatiable, your old mate, BMF ❤️

  2. This is a true danish style. Im really glad youre in Denmark and eat tarteletter. Typical danish-english accent theyve got. Like it.
Denmark sayin and sort of dad joke: "Nogen tar det hårdt, andre tar det letter" which is a play on the word Tartelet and it translates to "some take it hard, some take it easier". I guess you took it easier 😉

  3. Congrats on 7! But the next time you’re in a room w/beautiful women. Please show more of the beautiful women?

  4. Brother Beard, You've outdone yourself with this one! The only thing that could have made it better is if your new lady friend were with you! Bravo, King Beard! Love and respect, J.❤❤❤

  5. Those look great. I'll have to check out a recipe for them.
I imagine you could do all kinds of nice fillings with them.

I'd try making one with chanterelle mushrooms and pork or game meat.
    Or maybe broccoli and bacon.

  6. One for the history books!

    “I love forking you” 😂😂😂

And the horrified look of the girl at the table when you asked for dessert 😂😂😂

    So good!

  7. never been prouder to be a Dane! Was our tradition to make these Tartlets with leftover turkey on boxing day! That dessert is one of my faves.

  8. I love the banter between the cameraman and Beard. You can tell they are good friends by the proding, poking, and jabbing. Even appears to be good doubt inspiration, some real Michael Jordan "and I took that personally" stuff.

  9. Hope you managed to hit up Luke's Bar in Copenhagen while you were here – pretty sure you'd love the place! 🙂 (not affiliated, just long time patron)
