We cook the same and different all at once! Browning the chicken and sausage, yes, but I use white wine to deglaze the pan and then add chicken stock not water. Definitely use chopped onion and garlic but not usually celery or green pepper. I add carrots and potatoes to stew and frozen peas at the very end. Serve it over noodles not rice. The technique is similar with some tweaks to the ingredients.
