We’re Thomas and Sheena, food and travel fiends. We travel full time, hunting for the BEST local food in the world to showcase via our YouTube videos. Food is a window into a country’s culture and one of the most exciting ways to get to know a place.
We’re all about eating what and where the locals eat. You won’t find food that’s been created merely to be social media worthy on here- no rainbow bagels, gold leaf soft serves- just honest food that tastes incredible.
From street food to mom and pop restaurants, we want to show you the best food we find on our travels.

Hi guys from Malaysia 🇲🇾 pls try Malaysian foods in Melbourne, 2 spot
1. Matt Malaysian Cafe
2. Warong Mummy
Try their signature dish Nasi Kerabu, Soy Sauce Beef, Keropok Lekor 😁
Miss seeing you both with your daughter. Hope she is well and ty for your videos❤
Hey Guys, please try Namma Bangalore Vibbes at 118, Koomang Road. Ask for their best dosas.
Please go to Brunswick street
Ga-On is fantastic, glad you got to try it and that you enjoyed it. I especially like the cabbage jeon.
Koornang Rd is full of hidden gems! The Huff Bagelry have some of the tastiest chewy and good value for money bagels.
The other place we head to (nearby) is Eastern Dumpling House because they make the best Shanghai style pan fried juicy pork buns (sheng jian bao) in all of Melbourne! Their secret is that they press the bottom of each dumpling into sesame seeds before cooking. Crunchy sesame base, chewy skin, sweetish soup inside with silky minced pork. They aren't dangerous lava volcano dumplings like their better known cousin – shao long bao with less soup but more flavour!
The dumplings and other menu items are also tasty but the SJB is the winner for us!
The Russian deli over the road has an interesting assortment of smoked and pickled smallgoods as well as samovars etc and lots of Russian being spoken.
You can't go wrong in Koornang Rd.
Carnegie is great and such variety. I live in the South East area, so Clayton Rd, Springvale Rd, Huntingdale, Oakleigh, Dandenong etc. etc. are my go-to areas.
The clay pot 😋👍
You guys are amazing , to find a place I mean a street like that I'm blown away , all the variety and so well done , you have found something priceless . That clay pot with the slightly charred rice , just like paella , the socarrat on the bottom , incredible . And I want to be a sticky beak , where is your lovely baby I miss seeing her and her lovely expressions , cheers for now Alister. 🍽🥢🦐
Have you guys moved to Melbourne?
Love this guys, always look forward to your uploads ❤
First Taste has been around for eons but Carnegie is fairly new, a few years old. They’ve got branches in box hill, Footscray and Springvale. Their XO fish clay pot rice is yum! Auntie Hong’s Dumplings on Koornang serves up good garlic deep fried pork ribs and their dry Dan Dan noodles gives a no-holds punch of unapologetic spiciness to blow your socks off. This winter weather really is perfect for their Ginger Shredded Pork Noodle soup. Unique and unctuous.
Love your videos, definitely recommend Cafe Ogawa on Union Road, Ascot Vale for a future episode.
What a great day of eating! Mouthwatering. I paused the screen on the gelato menu to choose my two scoops before you selected yours — we chose the same two! Thanks for the trip down this amazing street. 🙌😘
I love the soup bowls they use at Ga-On, they are like Tibetan singing bowls, very classy 🤗
Loving this series and all the places I now have on my list to visit.
So glad you guys are doing so much Melbourne.
How exciting.
😋👍💯Thanks guys🙋
So happy you’ve checked out Carnegie! My area. There are so many epic restaurants – try Sowl and Tyga next time
Thank you so much for visiting Gaon and for featuring us so beautifully on YouTube. We truly appreciate the time and effort you put into capturing our food and story. Your support means a lot to us, and we can’t wait to welcome you back again soon 😊
