Luca’s cookbook for students: fine dining on a budget

Who knows, maybe the next winner of MasterChef is already among our students. đź‘€

One thing is certain, though: he decided not to wait for the win to publish his first cookbook.

His name is Luca, he’s 16 years old, and for his personal project he created a “cookbook for students” that transforms simple, low-cost ingredients into fine dining dishes.

His goal?
To prove that good food doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive and that even students, starting from very little, can create something healthy, thoughtful and surprisingly delicious.

Luca has been cooking for most of his life. He started at eight, and over time what began as a passion became something more intentional: not just cooking, but constantly refining and understanding how to make each dish more complete.
And the result is clear.
Each recipe is carefully constructed, from taste to plating, from texture to presentation. Dishes like Eton Mess, teriyaki salmon or green Thai curry balance simplicity and refinement while remaining replicable.
But this project goes beyond cooking.

To bring it to life, Luca moved across disciplines: photography, lighting, plating, graphic design. Learning how to not only create a dish, but how to present it and communicate it.
Because, as he writes, “the presentation of a dish is the key to success.”

His hope, as he writes, “is that this book inspires other students and cooking enthusiasts to try out new ideas in the kitchen.”
Because that’s where, in his view, “the magic happens: in the kitchen, where the possibilities are endless.”
