After 6+ years of creating food content online, the most requested thing I’ve heard from fans worldwide has always been the same. “I wish I could try your food in person.” That changes now.
Golden Boys is my passion project built alongside some of my closest friends, rooted in the city that supported me from the very beginning. Flint is home, so it only made sense to start here. The Flint Farmers’ Market has always been a place I’ve spent years coming to for fresh produce, time with friends, and community, and that welcoming energy is exactly what I wanted Golden Boy’s to grow in.
As for the name, my last name Alzahabi translates to “golden” in Arabic, and going into this with the people I love most, Golden Boy’s just felt right. And the food follows that same spirit. It’s international fusion comfort food that pulls from everywhere I’ve been and everything I’ve learned, brought together in a way that feels both familiar and exciting. We’re launching with three mains: the Golden Bowl, the Butter Chicken Loaded Fries, and the Golden Burger.
I won’t always be in the building, but the love behind every recipe will be. Golden Boys is bigger than me. It’s about building something the Flint community can be proud of, and eventually taking it beyond. This is just the beginning.

You'd be so much better off charging less and using it to market your brand and your name. You're going to invite hate, like Uncle Roger and so many others who have transitioned to this kind of business from YouTube. If Shawarma Hut in the UK can serve a full plate for 5.99 in London, with the wages there, please don't argue that you can't do it in Flint. This is business advice, not criticism, and I am speaking from experience.
You should have a firm mandate of nothing more than $10.
Also, why stuff the plates? Obesity rate is 50% in Flint, and as the Prophet (SAW) said, "A human being fills no worse vessel than his stomach. It is sufficient for a human being to eat a few mouthfuls to keep his spine straight. But if he must (fill it), then one third for his food, one third for his drink, and one third for his air."
I want you to be successful, think about it.
