Today I spent the day exploring the fast food culture of Haiti 🇭🇹
One question I get all the time is: Does Haiti have McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, or other fast food chains? The answer might surprise you.
Even though Haiti doesn’t have global chains like McDonald’s or KFC, Haiti created its own fast food culture with local restaurants that people in Port-au-Prince have grown up with for years.
From Epi D’or to Wings World and more, I traveled across Port-au-Prince trying some of Haiti’s most popular fast food spots to see what fast food really looks like in Haiti.
For years the world has told Haiti’s story. Now it’s time we tell it ourselves.

Haiti used to have two KFC locations in Port-au-Prince back in the 1980s.
Where is Le Food Court located? Just found out it’s close to my house by Unibank on Rte Frères. It used to be Hot and Fresh restaurant when I knew it.
