VIETNAM AFTER DARK : SAIGON STREET FOOD

Saigon after dark with In The Kut.

From back alley family spots to crowded street corners packed with locals, this episode follows a late night food run through the city. Bột chiên cooked on a hot griddle, southern style phở eaten on small stools, smoky bò lá lốt wrapped with herbs and rice paper, and late night ốc covered in rich sauces shared with the locals.

A look into the street food culture that keeps Saigon alive long after midnight.

  1. If you can find bot chien place in district 5 that cooks on a flat top with lard—it got nice wok hei flavor. These days they deep fry it which not how it used to be.

  2. Your are "killing it" man. Excellent work and most importantly- I wanna eat that!

  3. I like Pho in Vietnam very much, and I like to eat Beep trife- book trife. Which is the best thing I like to eat with Pho in Vietnam. Do you try Pho Hoa, Pho Le, Pho Vietnam….

  4. Man, night shift workers in VN have it nice in VN. AND their purchases are really valued and appreciated by the vendors too. They sympathize with each other.

Vietnam is the ultimate democracy for food. Rich and poor, young and old, daytime and night time, urban and rural, people have access to seafood, grill and stir fry, freshly cooked food with fresh ingredients, herbs and vegetables picked just picked the same morning, tree ripened fruit smoothies.

  5. I’ll be back there in a couple of months. You had things I never had before and I’m eager to try. Keep these sick videos coming.

  6. I spent a few days staying near Pham Ngu Lao Street and enjoyed the convenience of the neighborhood. There are plenty of cafes and travel services nearby. One place that helped during my trip was Dan’s Wash & Stay at 185/10 Pham Ngu Lao. It is a 24 hour self service laundry with washing and drying for about 30K per load and they also offer luggage storage.

  7. During my trip to Ho Chi Minh City I stayed near Bui Vien Walking Street and found the area very traveler friendly. While walking around I discovered Dan’s Wash & Stay at 185/10 Pham Ngu Lao. It is a 24 hour self service laundry where washing and drying costs around 30K per load and takes about an hour. They also have luggage storage available, which is perfect if you check out early but still want to explore Saigon before leaving.

  8. We watch your videos almost every night with dinner (and sometimes lunch)! We would love a bio video! You do such a great job with the show, it is one of our favs. ✌ 🐌
