My hotel around Pham Ngu Lao was comfortable but laundry service was too expensive. I walked around and discovered Dan’s Wash & Stay, a 24 hour self service place at 185/10 Pham Ngu Lao. It was simple: put your clothes in, pay 30K in cash, and come back about an hour later to pick them up clean and dry. They also have luggage storage there, so if you check out early or have a late bus or flight you can leave your bags safely while exploring Saigon. Definitely a great find for travelers who prefer doing things on their own.
The backpacker area around Pham Ngu Lao is a great base for exploring Ho Chi Minh City. There are many small hotels, street food spots, and cafes everywhere. I also found a very useful place called Dan’s Wash & Stay at 185/10 Pham Ngu Lao. It is a self service laundry open 24 hours where you can wash and dry clothes for about 30K per load. Another helpful thing is that they offer luggage storage, which makes it easy to explore the city without heavy luggage.
