Trying London’s OLDEST Restaurant! Is RULES Worth it?

London’s oldest restaurant Rules is also one of the most iconic restaurants in London, if not one of the most iconic restaurants in the UK. Founded in the 1700s, Rules still serves many old-school traditional British cuisine. Like many traditional British restaurants, it boasts steak and kidney pie and puddings and has some great stuff. The Rules sticky toffee pudding is also famous. But while Rules is historical, is it still among London’s best restaurants?
As I am in Europe for a wedding, I decided to swing by London and knew I couldn’t leave the UK without trying Rules. Rules in London is a fancy restaurant with a posh atmosphere, but I wanted to see if the food was worth it and if it’s still one of the best restaurants in London. We’ll see if the Rules meat pies are worth the hype and find out together if Rules in London is worth the hype!

You should meet up with Gary Eats UA! Great gentleman and produces great content in London and all of England!
When I was in London prime rib was your best bet. Maybe times have changed.
Not AGAIN! The people in the background are often louder than you.
This is fantastic work man! Awesome.
219k subs? Damn, that was a fast jump.
British food is horrible. No seasoning or flavor to their food.
"youre a bit annoying" 10:17 πππ
13:32 This is where I side with the complainers…nothing more annoying than someone going "MMMMM MMMM MMMM" when they eat π
Dude, you missed out on a lot of views if you would of beef it out with that guy.
I think people are just so sick of us because of horror MAGA and Trump and the general stereotypes. It makes me self-conscious to travel abroad.
The guy who said you were being annoying. Was there not a nicer way for him to tell you that??
you should have told the guy that told you to shut up that your allergic to shellfish
Urin eats
Welsh Rarebit is super delicious if you have a chance to try it.
Less is more. Much too talky.
Ok, I can maybe understand politely asking someone if they could lower their voice a little, particularly if itβs a quieter, upscale restaurant. But to add the βyouβre a bit annoyingβ remark at the end is just uncalled for. You handled that with way more class than most wouldβve π
is it me or you couldlt pay mw=e to eat ths crap….yuck
ua come home to real food
That is not puff pastry. Itβs short crust pastry.
Obviously, you do NOT read the comments. You use the exact same piano music in EVERY video. It has gotten to the point that I can not watch your videos any longer because the music is so irritating. If you want to lose viewers, keep using the same song on every video you make. You have lost a subscriber today. I love the videos and the content, but can't stand that piece of music you insist on playing in every video. Good luck. I have unsubscribed.
I would be very annoyed if they accidentally threw my to go bag away. The place is pricey.
"Omg no my potatoes are too delicious i cant stand them!" Yeah dude that called you annoying is a hero
UA, while you're in London, could you please review Marco Pierre White's steakhouse?

That waiter must be the final boss of all waiters love his enthusiam!
Its not mash potato…. the reason you split the pie is to cover it in gravy so the meat isnt dry all resturants in the uk have salt and pepper on them i respect americans like there food pre seasoned but some british dont like pepole others dont like a high salt intake we season our own food the amount of american youtubers i see moaning the food is laking salt or pepper and its right next to them is frustrating
21:05 I 100% thought the waiter was island black π
Looks an interesting old style spot. I second the recommendation of Fallow. Its one of the best non Michelin star restaurants you will ever visit. A slight point of order, I wouldn't be a big fan of someone sticking a camera in my face and putting it online tbh. It could be best to blur out other guests faces.
He whispers, then gets louder and louder⦠I was waiting for him to get yelled at again.
How many times does an influencer have to be told that they are annoying before they look inward and realize itβs actually them and not everyone else? I still enjoy UAβs videos, but maybe itβs time for introspection.
Seems like a stereotypical, old English restaurant experience in London. Arrogant, rude guests, way overpriced below average, under seasoned, unimaginative food, taxed out the wazoo, snooty looks, in an old building they shot a bad movie in once. It was once a great restaurant, but has been riding on the coattails of a once well earned but long since inaccurate reputation for 75 years.
1. You didn't order mashed potatoes
2. I think both you and the person who told you to keep down the tone are somewhat correct.
3. The restaurant is pricey
4. I think the restaurant is mediocre because it has kept the same recipes from 100s of years while the dishes in 1800s would have shocked but currently they they are just fine.
that is not how you eat a pie or how a pie should be served either – mash, pie and gravy with greens. Of course you should visit St Johns the most important London restaurant of the last what 30 years , for pies as art couture- Calum Franklin at The Pie Room, and for Londons best restaurant – 2 star Ikoyi
