South by South of the Border with Vivian Howard | Pati’s Mexican Table S8 E3

I was delighted to have my friend chef Vivian Howard visit me, all the way from North Carolina, for this special episode of Pati’s Mexican Table. We each are sharing some of the recipes we love and it’s going to be a south meets south of the border feast!

I’m making two Mexican classics: a pierna de cerdo adobada (adobo pork) and a tres leches cake with a twist — it’s actually a cuatro leches cake. And Vivian is rounding out the meal with three Southern staples: turnip greens with country sausage, Texas caviar (which is a lot like pico de gallo), and traditional hoecakes.
