  3. I recommend canned French onion soup for dipping, or French onion mixed with beef consomme. You could even strain the onions out and add them to your caramelized onions.

I'd normally say this is a good thing to do with roast beef leftovers, including pan juice, but when a teeny tiny little roast (i live alone) went up from $13 to almost $40 a few years back, I stopped cooking roast. ๐Ÿ˜‚ And yes, I'm picky about meats & dairy. Switching to almost all "organic" when I became an empty nester made a giant difference in how many times a year I caught some crud from 600 kids + teachers who worked sick.

  9. Will try this with gluten free pastry since I am gluten free. I can do chickpeas and veggie broth for my family member who prefers veggies. When I carmelize my onions or shallots I add bit if sugar to add extra sweetness. Provolone sounds good! Thank you!๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘
