Dining at 1-star rated restaurants? Yeah, I’ve done it. But maybe it’s time I take it to the next level. Restaurants that have a Health Inspection rating of not A, not B, but C. That’s right, this is the C-list. I’m on a mission to find out what gets a restaurant a C-Grading.
Taji Ameen is a regular guy who grew up in NYC and after his stint in media with shows like One Star Reviews and Better Man, he decided to spend his life on the Island. The time came when Taji was ready to show his face again, and documenting life on the Island through internet classifieds became his next adventure.

I see. You're not allowed to place any food on the ground at restaurants, these restaurants in NYC are super compact, so they placed food outside on the sidewalk. Which is why they got their C. I mean you gotta follow the rules, there is a reason they don't like you placing food on the ground. Rats and insects can infest and crawl up onto the food. Plus you placing food outside it might be warming up under the sun and creating food health hazards.

i think the grading system is bs, all in who you know or the inspector lol cause theres a place here with an A and always has an A but its such a dump, the bathrooms are horrifying and outside by the door to the kitchen and food storage area which is a shed, i see employees go in there and come out very fast still Zipping their pants up, you know they dont wash hands and then handling food and taking trash out barehands and not washing their hands before cooking, then one time at the drive thru i saw a rat come out from the shed where the foodn storage is lol its a gross place but the owners are very nice and foods very good when they are there, when they arent there the food isnt good and the employees are drunk and high and complaining about working lol one dude was nodding off standing at the register, idk what drug does that but it was something lol but i still eat there sometimes even as a germaphobe, i grew up going there and they got the best mexican food left in the city xD dont think ive gotten sick from there! but i do only eat vegetarian stuff so i cant comment on the meats lol i feel like beans and cheese with veggies are a lot less likely to make you sick than like chicken that wasnt properly kept lol theres no way their makeshift freezer from a wooden shed with a giant door keeps everything cooled properly xD especially when its always opened

Taji, Google NYC ABCEats Portal – it's the NYC's official and live website of all restaurant grades. You can filter for 'C' grading – there's at least 200 restos with a C grading – and not pending.

It would’ve been best to research this information before going out there. Newspapers will generally post stories about who had poor ratings during recent reviews
