Following the G7 meeting in Evian-les-Bains, US President Donald Trump is headed to the Versailles castle, where he will be welcomed as an honoured guest. French President Emmanuel Macron chose the venue for a dinner between the two world leaders, as he hopes to patch up relations with the American president. The dinner was proposed by Macron to celebrate the USA’s 250th Anniversary.

Is it possible that M. Macron is mocking Trump? After all, Trump's predilection for overstated decoration featuring gold has been well known for years. Versaille is a pinnacle of the architectural style that Trump cartoonishly apes in his choices of decor. As a Canadian, I would not presume to an understanding of French humour, but are there not two messages here: 1. you can never match the original you try to copy, 2. this style of art and architecture is not only the past, but someone else's past.

The Europeans are horrible allies. They've taken advantage of the US for decades. Time for the US to pull out of NATO and let Europe pay for its own military and security. The hard working American tax payer is no longer willing to spend their money to support ungrateful European countries against Russia.
This guy seems to forget that without U.S. financial and military support through NATO, you and EU better find the way to protect your own country.
