The Moment We Realized the Table Might Not Fit

With less than a week until the Parade of Homes photo shoot, Shea McGee and the Studio McGee team can finally see the finish line—and they’re feeling the pressure.

Install week is officially underway as they work room by room through some of the most important spaces in this luxury family home, including the chef’s kitchen, scullery, conservatory, and dining room.

Custom oak cabinetry anchors the kitchen and scullery, countertops arrive just in time, and two Steinway pianos are carefully moved into the conservatory as the clock continues to tick. Meanwhile, artist James Mobley brings personality and character to the home with hand-painted murals that transform the dining room and craft room.

But the biggest challenge of the week comes in the form of a massive solid stone dining table. Getting it into the room is one thing. Making sure it actually fits is another.

As Shea puts it, “I’m panicking. I’m nervous.”
