Eating at Indienne. BEST Indian Restaurant in America?

I eat at and review the original Chicago location of Indienne, which is located in the city’s River North neighborhood. Indienne serves progressive Indian cuisine and is one of only four Indian restaurants in the US with a Michelin Star. Indienne is helmed by Chef Sujan Sarkar, who is originally from Kolkata. The restaurant offers multiple tasting menus with reasonable prices for a starred establishment.

  4. Excellent video. Your appetite in beyond compare. I always love that you show us the empty plates after each item.

  5. Good Lord – $500 for Indian food for two? I get that it's a Michelin star, but seriously. If you want authentic Indian food, there's probably other options and for way less. No thanks.

  6. No matter how expensive it was, the moment you had with your dad is priceless.

  7. One of the most expensive meals I’ve seen you share! Agree with the bread comment! Hopefully they change that!

  8. What a cool thing to do with your Dad and you Both deserve a $540 night out!!!
    Precious memories ❤️
    Food looks Amazing!

  9. One of the few cuisines where we in the UK have a marked advantage over the US, at least in terms of numbers. 8 in London alone (7 1* and 1 2*), though for my birthday I'm opting for the other 2* here, Opheem in Birmingham (which I've wanted to go to since it got its first star). Indian restaurants do vegetarian tremendously well, given its prevalence back home. Looked good, but I'd probably opt for another type of cuisine when visiting the US as it's so well represented back home.

  10. Sorry to say, but you had French food with Indian flavours. Even the name "Indienne" is French feminine word for indian (masculine: Indien, feminine: Indienne).

  11. Nice watch close up! I always appreciate that. Is that a new Seiko, maybe purchased in Vietnam?

  12. Just an FYI. The name is actually pronounced Shor-Car. There is no S sound in Bengali, the language of Kolkata, and I have the same last name. Reading his name my assumption its said shoo-jahn shorkar. Also the Pescatarian menu is interesting. Bengal region is well known for consumption of fresh water fish.

  13. Another amazing video but holy smokes that's a crazy amount to pay for an afternoon meal. Read the book Behind the Beautiful Forevers to get an idea of The Rich people v the poor… just saying

  14. Feel like HARRY PORTER fine dine of INDIAN food.. Food looks like FANTASY bro…. ALL Assorted cuisines from India… from all interstates.. FINE TUNED Like a FERRARI and BENTLEIGH

  15. Charging extra for the Kulcha bothered me too. It comes off as trying to nickel and dime you, which takes away from the dish and the overall experience. But, it all looked beautiful. I hope your Dad is doing well… Well, both parents lol.
