Pemmican Spread w/ nuts
@cbcindigenous Let’s make pemmican the traditional way. Pemmican is made with dry meat, berries, animal fat, bone marrow and nuts. This group used grandmother stones to crush the ingredients before mixing them together and rolling them into pemmican balls or forming them into flat patties to dry. #Indigenous TikTok

Three Sisters Stew W/ Bison
@manabites In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, here’s a delicious recipe for Three Sisters Stew. This nourishing blend of corn, beans, and squash honors the Chickasaw spirit of community care and providing for one another. The stew gets its name, “Three Sisters,” from the way these plants support one another as they grow: the corn provides a structure for the beans, the beans enrich the soil, and the squash retains moisture for all. Simple to prepare, this dish highlights the natural flavors of its ingredients and can be ready to savor in under 45 minutes. #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth #ThreeSistersStew #stew #soup #nativeamerican #fyp #vegan #vegetarian Three Sisters Stew Ingredients: – 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil – 1 cup diced butternut squash – 2 teaspoons chili powder – 5 cloves garlic, minced – 2 cups onions, finely chopped – 5 cups water – 1 green bell pepper, diced – 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and diced – 1.5 tablespoons vegetable stock concentrate – 1 can (14.5 oz) fire-roasted tomatoes, diced – 1 cup fresh corn kernels – 1 1/2 cups cooked navy beans ( if using can make sure low sodium) – 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon dried Mexican oregano – 2 sprigs fresh thyme – 1.5 teaspoons all-purposeful seasoning @floraandmana -1/2 tsp salt – Flat-leaf parsley and/or microgreens, for garnish Instructions: 1. In a large pot, warm the olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onions until translucent, about 5 minutes. 2. Stir in the garlic, green bell pepper, and jalapeño, cooking for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant. 3. Add the corn, navy beans, and butternut squash to the pot, stirring to combine. 4. Sprinkle in the chili powder, black pepper, dried oregano, thyme, salt and all-purposeful seasoning. Pour in the vegetable stock and water, mixing well. 5. Bring the stew to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Allow it to cook uncovered for 30-40 minutes, or until the squash is tender and flavors have melded. 6. Adjust the seasoning to taste if necessary. 7. Ladle the stew into bowls and garnish with flat-leaf parsley and microgreens. 8. Serve hot, accompanied by rice or bread, or savor it on its own for a comforting meal.

Yay! Way to show Saskatchewan First Nations culture with the pemmican!
I wonder how many people like gin and abhor Juniper.
Posting this episode on July 3rd is a choice. A choice that i love.
Let go finally
Yay! Thank you for showing our foods ☺️
This was hella awesome!! Loved it! I was one of the many people that requested this. Talking to others about this was fun and educational.
Next do Try Not To Eat: Euphoria

Thank you!!! From a long time watcher who is Diné and Alaskan native! This literally made me tear up 🖤 we need more representation! Ahéhe! 🖤
All tribes had same rations and made NDN tacos not just the Dine 🙁 and that pepers are native american too?
love learning about native american traditions and their foods, everyone should know the dark history behind it all – more of this! 🖤
A'skwali (Hopi for the feminine way of saying thank you aka one of the Navajo Nation tribes) for sharing my cultures food.
I'll make y'all some bomb frybread 🖤
Blue corn much is amazing!
If only they had kneel down bread.
I so appreciate that they're touching on the darker parts of US history that they graze over in schools. I learned a lot from this video.
Iroquois is a language group not a tribe.Cherokee is part of that group like many other tribes..
If you've had Gin you've had juniper. I found out that I am of the Otomí tribe through 23andme.
I remember eating three sisters stew and corn fritters and not thinking about the significance as a kid. To me it was just something we ate at great grandmas house. Now that I'm pregnant I'm so upset her recipe was never written down because it's all I want
Would've loved to have seen something from the Aniishinabe or Ojibwe/Chippewa….
I have Shawnee Indian in my family. It is pretty cool.
I was expecting catfish.
FINALLY!!!!! OMG TOOK LONG ENOUGH!
Right timing.
