  1. It doesn't take a coal oven to make those marks on the crust. I've worked in the pizza business for over 40yrs.

  2. Brother how you call yourself a New Yorker and don’t even know how spicy the halal guys hot sauce is šŸ˜‚ nub

  3. Sarges better than Katz!? Yea I know they’re paying you to say this no way bro ! To anybody watching or reading this don’t believe this at all! Go to both and you tell me which is better

  4. As a frequent NYC traveler, I’ve had the pleasure of dining in both, Katz’s and Sarge’s, the food is much better at Sarge’s!! Better taste, the bread doesn’t crumble and the side orders are tastier and plentiful!! Sarge’s Al the way!!

  5. I always tell people to go to Sarge's for there pastrami sandwich. Katz's is definitely a tourist trap. As someone who's from here, i will never wait in a line for food when there's so many other good options close by. Big tip: if you're planning to get something from a food cart & there's no prices listed that's a red flag that you might (will) get overcharged. Always ask b4 ordering.

  6. Alot of you guy's are narrarating your videos now, reediting them, using new thumbnails, combing them and reposting them as if they are original from yesterday. This video i so old. Even the pasting is so old. Dude, your'e just trying to make free money now instead of doing the work.

  7. Hey Jon, just wanted to say thanks for all your NYC videos. We were just there a couple weeks ago and your videos helped me plan out our trip, and my family was impressed with all the little tips and tricks I learned from you. We had a great time, so thank you!

  8. American fake-Italian pizza looks pretty pathetic, to be honest. Also, WTF did they put on top of your "pie" (lol), a bush of basil? No offence, Jon, but this looks like an #AD to me… that pizza looks pretty nasty. The tomato is orange, it's definitely overdone with the basil, the crust is flat and there's way too much distance between the border and the topping. I feel sorry for you 'Mericans… with all due respect, of course.

  9. Jon I remember commenting a few years back saying you needed to showcase Sarge's and imo it is the best pastrami sandwich in the city. Thanks for sharing!

  10. 12:27 I still go to and enjoy platters for the nostalgia over the past 20+ years. It started as a food cart for late night cabbies to get something to eat. On one hand it's a shame that it became so popular and they slipped on quality but still have long lines but on the other hand it's good that competition has popped up everywhere and it highlights a lot of culture that is often hidden in background of the city

  11. Great video and I agree with everything aside the cheesecake battle! Eileen's is excellent but it's not a quintessential New York style cheesecake like Juniors! New York cheesecake isn't light and airy with graham cracker crusts. Sorry, but it's not a fair comparison if you're judging New York style cakes. Also, I would've told the security guard to GFY since you we're on a public sidewalk and not on bank property. The bank can only lay claim to property on the first squares of sidewalk space outside of their property. Everything else beyond it is public area and you can film what you want. I would've told him to get lost and dared him to call the police. You would've been done filming before they showed up anyway IF they even show up! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

  12. Katz wasn’t always tourist trap back in the day i remember when it was $5.00 a sandwich in the 1980s. Only when a billion youtube bloggers went there it became a tourist trap

  13. If it's a brick & mortar business—
There should NEVER be an off day, off pie, off whatever. Period.

  14. Now that Katz's sandwich looks like – with 2 more pieces of bread – could feed 2 people and 2 sandwiches could be made . BUT why do I have a feeling that there is a sign posted somewhere saying "NO extra Bead slices for sale!" ? LOL. Total rip off. I hate cramped seating with strangers !!!!

  15. I tried to go to Katz when I was in NYC in May, but got there too late. So I went to times square, because I was starving, & got a hot dog. Ugh. Like you said, it was edible, but just barely. Will never do that, again!! Good video!!

  16. not sure if i went to katz at an off time, or if they really show out when they know someone is recording for youtube, but when i went it was legitimately awful, thin and just dry pastrami. šŸ™

  17. Jon I beg you to stop using gen ai, it's reducing the quality of your content. We come to you for your human self, not for a computer program that steals and soulessly regurgitates.

  18. Rule of thumb: If there are a lot of tourists, it is a tourist trap.

Just go to places where only the locals go.

P/s: before going, check reviews. If many reviews are from tourists, don't even waste time to go there.
