  1. Florida AP holder and I stay at AKL (solo) frequently. Usually my first night is Jiko's. You can walk in and sit in the lounge/bar area with no reservation and order from the entire menu. I'm a boar appetizer guy but looks like I'll have to try the flat bread along with the boar next time.

  2. Thanks for the review. Completely off my radar and I've been to the parks more than most three or four year employees. So….we got lost parking for Sanaa a few months ago. lol Garage was under construction and we got blocked in while we were at lunch. Was some good adventurous fun but they could have should have had better management of the construction site. Got yelled at for trying to use an elevator that was out of service (without signage) and for being in a closed off area. …but we followed the security gate's instruction and were waved into the garage by constuction employees. Keystone cops kind of thing.

  3. Dangit ….im not getting notifications all of a sudden . I missed last video too SORRY . Not sure why

  4. Jiko is an IYKYK place. One of the best breads, one of the best apps (duck flatbread is in line with the Wave bacon and eggs and the Skipper Canteen cachapas) and their filet is top 3 on Disney property.

  5. I have eaten at Jiko many times. Every time, great delicious unique food and terrific service. The largest party we had was 10, 6 children, no one left hungry. I highly recommend the ostrich appetizer. It was phenomenal. The children loved it. It was so good we had to order a second plate! It was nearly ten years ago and I still remember how we all loved it.

  6. In a super fan of Sanaa at the AK village!!! We went to the first lunch at 11:30 and they had a little pre show “drumming up an appetite!” My grand-twins loved being part of the African drum line!!! Food/atmosphere/service was awesome.

  7. ate there in January. it had been a few years. sat at the cooking spot, not that exciting…watched them chopping bread and veggies. not much cooking. the entree came b4 the app. they gave me some charcuterie which they make for Victorias but its not on the Jiko menu. filet w Mac and cheese of course. id prob go back.

  8. My daughter and I had New Yrs Eve dinner there last year, We both are pretty adventurous eaters. I loved the food- the steak was amazing. She hated the food- had the chicken. I will say we both first had drinks in their bar, and the bartender was fabulous. Maybe because it was New Yrs Eve and also a birthday, but she insisted on having me try several of the very high end wines from South Africa – at no cost. Getting back from there to Wilderness Lodge using a scooter was challenging. I would still love to go back. Great gift shop too.

  9. We used to love Jiko and after the last few trips I doubt we will be back. They are wildly inconsistent now. You didn't go on a bad night; you just got the poorly prepared food that day. I don't know who is running the kitchen but there is crazy variability on the same day. Not OK at a place where a party of four adults will likely spend at least $400 with tax and tip. Last time we went I had the Seafood Tangine. I live 30 miles from NYC and even by NYC standards $55 is rich for mussels, shrimp and octopus, especially given it borderline reads appetizer. It came to me lukewarm, at best, with virtually no broth, despite the grand presentation. I thought the broth issue might be me until I saw two of the same dishes served just below me, we were in the back, elevated over another table. Each had much more broth that was actually hot. As we left, I saw someone being served my version. It reminds me of Muppet Christmas Carol when Scrooge tells Belle he loves her and she replies, "You did once". This place was awesome, not anymore, at least at the price.
