The standard and freshness of the fish itself wouldnt change over 10 minutes after probably being frozen over a month

£17 for fish and chips is a scandal to consider it an underdog
Tbh I've had fish and chips that travelled for 10 minutes that stayed in tact, but it would have been better to review it first like you did in the last video.
Expensive that for a fish and chips.. anyone charging that is robbing people
You were doing really well up until now mate. This was no way an apples for apples comparison… you should’ve realised you were going to get pushback on it
Isn't the first haddock and second cod, that might be the clear difference.

I don't think 10 minutes travel time turns batter into a semi-cooked pancake.
You cant say they 2nd fish batter is crispy when you waited 10mins before the first one, that's not fare
Nothing to do with the 10mins, but the first one was frozen cod , and can be seen by the pale grey colour and peas looked pretty poor sadly.
The worst chippy in the uk is on the harbour round the corner, disgusting , this 2 places are loads better.
The first one you could see the problem. There was not enough water in the batter mix making it too thick. Danny took it off and turned it over and by the white uncrispy bits it could not crisp up. Likely to have grayed up the fish too.

Knew that there would be a clamour to hate Steins against the cheaper option, despite the cheaper one looking and tasting like crap.
I just checked my local Chippy here in Ballina Co Mayo and fresh cod and chips is €12.

Bit disappointed with this episode, couldn't properly be bothered with it on the basis of how you bought one portion 3 weeks ago but didn't eat them until you had the other portion there too!

WE NOW BUY FRESH FISH FROM OUR LOCAL FISH MONGER WHICH IS FAR BETTER.
NEXT MONTH WE GO ON OUR ANNUAL HOLIDAY TO PLYMOUTH, BUT WE WILL BE GOING TO RICK'S

Man, I was rooting for the underdog of Chip Ahoy but I do think you should of reviewed the Chip Ahoy straight away as soon as it came out not wait 10 minutes.
I find that UK portions of fish are way too big
Every fish and chips looks average compared to Anstruther
Christ the replies on here. Waiting 10 or even 20 mins won't make the fish gray or the batter uncooked underneath.
