Some Of California’s Best Mexican Food Is In A Ventura Strip Mall? – Family Food

La Parrilla Yucatan Mexican Food is a restaurant in sunny Ventura, CA that serves up traditional food from the Mexican state of Yucatán. Run by the hardworking Lopez family, La Parrilla specializes in dishes like cochinita pibil, birria, carne asada, seafood molcajetes, and flan. The story of this restaurant traces back to a small town in Mexico, where Victor and Delfina Lopez are from. Victor’s mom sold panuchos on the street, which is where Victor learned his uncompromising work ethic. Victor began selling hot dogs at a food cart of his own, and It is at that food cart where Victor fell in love with Deflina in a beautiful story of love at first sight. Now, Victor and Delfina run La Parrilla in Ventura with the help of their sons Eyder and Emanuel, as well as their nephew Walter.

  1. so much respect to the family and mad love but if you are actually a local you know this is NOT the spot….

  2. This shows that you can find your American dream by working hard and making good decisions. I am glad to see that they express there gratefulness for being in America.

  3. I live in Ventura now and spent 9 years living in the Yucatan Peninsula. This place is even better than many of the best restaurants in Mérida. So glad to have it close to home. Anytime I'm craving Cochinita Pibil I go here and it neeeeever misses the spot! Great restaurant!!

  4. In short, you have food from all over Mexico and also some from your own state, so people don't think that everything you mentioned is only from Yucatán.
Even so, the food looks authentic and homemade.

  5. I live in Oxnard. I’m taken back that we haven’t been there. Definitely trying it out this weekend!!! ❤❤❤

  6. Holy smokes I was born in raised in Ventura Ca and currently live in Georgia. I LOVE seeing my home town on this channel. I miss it so much 😢

  7. Just remember…..the traitor and hateful Xavier Becerra supports sidewalk vendors over tax paying restaurant owners. He said sidewalk vendors make better food than these tax paying owners.
