Today we’re dining at purportedly the oldest pub in the entire country! Dating back to 950AD; The Royal Standard of England in Beaconsfield is older than The Domesday Book, The Magna Carta, even the Norman conquest itself!
In this month’s episode we’re going to be finding out if the food they serve up here is just as rich and unique as the building’s history…

I think you'll find the oldest pub in Englland is The Old Ferry House at Holywell Cambridgeshire dated back to 560 AD

wth that's not whitebait, whitebait here has no fishy smell/taste, never seen whitebait that large they are normally 1/5 of the size and translucent and you mix them with egg into whitebait fritters, i'm talking about up to 20 whitebait into the size of a burger patty. you were probably served sardines.
also this channel has more cameras than National Geographic but the only animal there is Mr.Beard so let's hope this doesn't get boring, bring on the corny jokes

Most offal episode ever! Kidneys, liver, whitebait, goat sneeze, steak and more kidneys in suet…my ancestors would love it, but I'd rather have a curry any day of the week! The desserts looked awesome, though, and the ambience was so cool that I would love to go and get a rarebit and real ale! You guys are the best!

The Bingley Arms, The Royal Standard of England, and Ye Olde Fighting Cocks all lay claim to that title – which one is correct? no one knows.
The Bingley Arms (Bardsey, Leeds): Claims origins back to 953 AD, stating it served as a resting place for monks and a courthouse. Parts of the current structure feature 10th-century masonry and a 17th-century Dutch oven.
The Royal Standard of England (Forty Green, Beaconsfield): Claims roots back to the 12th century (approx. 1100), with a recorded mention as 'The Ship' in 1213 and its current royal title granted by King Charles II in 1663.
Olde Fighting Cocks (St Albans, Hertfordshire): Previously listed by Guinness World Records, it claims a founding date of 793 AD. Historic England dates the actual timber structure primarily to the 16th century, with licensing records only traceable to 1756.
