Seems good in theory, but god knows what’s going on in stranger’s kitchens. I just feel better knowing that at least the restaurant is held to standards, but from what employees say, that’s not even a guarantee for food safety either 🥲 I think I’d still try it though if I was with a friend and the place had lots of good reviews.

I don’t understand the logic. Why encourage people to boycott legitimate restaurants especially small, family owned businesses that spend thousands of dollars on rent, permits, licenses, health inspections, insurance, payroll, and taxes just so they can legally sell food?
Those businesses also employ people, creating jobs and providing paychecks that help support families.
I’m all for supporting local food sellers, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of businesses that are following the law and investing heavily in their communities. If someone is selling prepared meals, they should be held to the same standards. The answer isn’t to boycott legitimate restaurants, it’s to support businesses that operate fairly and legally.
I think this is really nice, I would just be concerned about food safety because these operations aren't getting inspected

New here and the food looks delicious but what started your boycott?
I kinda don’t love Facebook Marketplace food eaters. The people selling, completely fine. But there’s a big world out there, so many street vendors and vendors outside. I recommend people first walk around their communities and get to know their vendors and try their food out first. Because the social media aspect of this, kind of still removes community. It’s a drive up and then you take your food and go. As opposed to walking or parking near a vendor spot. Sitting down or ordering in person. Waiting for your food, and being able to talk to the people and vendors there.
This is definitely a start to building your community. But to actively make your community better, you have to interact with it on a deeper level.
