Making RATATOUILLE using MEAT?!

Making RATATOUILLE using MEAT?!

✨Recipe:
Ingredients:
Roasted Sauce
• 1 medium red bell pepper, seeded and quartered
• 2 medium shallots, peeled and halved
• 1 whole head garlic, cloves separated and peeled
• 1 medium jalapeño, seeded and halved
• 2 large heirloom tomatoes, cut into large wedges
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 2½ tsp salt, divided
• 2½ tsp ground black pepper, divided

Ratatouille:
• Pepperoni slices
• Salami slices
• Fresh mozzarella, sliced
• 4 medium Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
• Circular ravioli
• Red pepper flakes (optional)
• Fresh thyme (optional)
• Chopped fresh basil (optional)

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Arrange the red bell pepper, shallots, garlic cloves, jalapeño, and heirloom tomatoes on a baking sheet. Drizzle with the olive oil and season with about half of the salt and pepper. Roast for 45 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and lightly caramelized.
2. Transfer the roasted vegetables to a blender and blend until completely smooth to create a rich, flavorful sauce.
3. Spread the sauce evenly across the bottom of a 9-inch oven-safe skillet or round baking dish.
4. Starting around the outer edge of the dish, arrange the pepperoni, salami, mozzarella, tomato slices, and ravioli upright in an alternating pattern. Continue working inward in a spiral until the entire dish is filled.
5. Return the dish to the oven and bake for 25 minutes, until the tomatoes are tender, the ravioli is heated through, and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
6. Sprinkle with the remaining salt and pepper, then garnish with red pepper flakes, fresh thyme, and chopped basil if desired.
7. Serve warm and enjoy this hearty, pizza-inspired twist on classic ratatouille! 🍅🧀🍕

  1. This is genuinely what I used to think the ratatouille dish was 😭—just made of cold cuts and salami

  2. Hey! French here! This dich actually exists and it's a variation of the "tian", even tho we rarely use cheese in it. My grandma used to make tian with zucchinis, onions, tomatoes and meat. In the other side of the family, we use zucchinis and no meat. The dish shown in the movie is actually not a ratatouille, because a ratatouille is a mix of summer vegetables precisely cooked, it is more of a sauce. In the film they made it in a tian shape because it's more esthetic.
