Restaurants Went Too Far and Now They’re PAYING The Price

Restaurants spent years raising prices, adding fees, shrinking portions, pushing tipping prompts, and charging more for meals that customers once considered affordable. Now, some diners are starting to push back.

With families already dealing with expensive groceries, housing, insurance, transportation, and other everyday bills, eating out is becoming one of the easiest expenses to cut. Restaurants, meanwhile, still have their own rising costs for food, labor, rent, utilities, and insurance — creating a difficult situation on both sides.

In this video, we’re looking at why customers are becoming more selective about eating out, what’s driving frustration with restaurant prices, and what happens when diners finally decide the experience simply isn’t worth the bill anymore.

Did restaurants finally find the limit of what customers are willing to pay?

  1. You're saying they still bought it. BUT sometimes you are not home and have to eat somewhere. Sometimes you accept the price but expect better quality or portion size when it finally arrives. And sometimes you can't disappoint the kid you promised to treat out.

  2. F -THAT I cook my own food. And I come up with my own combos. Who knew a can of Jalopeno beans & rice was this good. A box of white rice and a few cans of beans and that`s a decent meal.$30 dollars for a slice of pizza is insane. And don`t get me started on the high price of a hamburger. The Trump economy is insane.

  3. That’s a lie that’s not the reason why your sandwich cost so much. It’s plain all every day greed don’t try to give us to feel sorry for you cause we know you make more than that.

  4. If your costs are 86K a month…get out. Stop contributing to a massive problem. And servers getting big tips want cash because MOST,yes MOST restaurants don’t pass tips on to their servers. Servers not paying taxes on tips is not your concern. You’re not the fecking police or the Feds.

  5. Make meals at home, and sandwiches in a cooler. Drinks can be water, and you can purchase chips if you like to spend more money. I do not care what your expenses are; my concern is what I have to pay for a meal.

  6. Only place i eat out is panda express i fell like they're not stingy with the food and a small mom and pop pizza spot near my house.

  7. Most Chinese restaurants split the tips force waitresses to give em to the chef too..its all fraud cant help anyone kets just refuse to work pay i wonder what would happen to the crooks?? Pick a date north america wide world wide either r great…lets all protest stay in watch movies do pay no thing just 1 day all of us together..ty laws..its enough so agree with everyone here🌎

  8. 0:12 There is no "No tip" option on the reader, and the minimum is 20%? What if someone wanted to give a cash tip? The tipping culture in America is crazy!!

  9. They cant add a service fee for refusing to tip he can call police thats thedt tips optional with crap service u get no tip no thats not allowed anyine chsrging any service fees like delivery i wint tip since they stole it without consent early..its theft we need laws that include corporate not just poor kids now

  10. If I buy junk food or fast food it's Costco or I use the coupons or the apps to eat for cheap other than that I won't go👀🤏🏼

  11. That poor guy if they're your friends they'd be grateful u showed up and understand u couldnt afford it a hood friend would cover him..u cant expect anyone to have over 50 for your birthday what kind of tools does he know lol no ty.❤ bless him so much..friends dont let u run out of food regardless wtf🤯 those r jerks snobs brats but not friends..u can spot the fakes that way good 4 him. No ty.

  12. Easy. When McD is more expensive than making burgers and fries at home. -I stay at home. -My burgers and fries are better too.

  13. We stopped eating out 4 years ago , the quality, portions and service plus tipping are outrageous. Totally done 👎

  14. Unless I’m in a foreign country like I will be next month in Costa Rica. I don’t eat out. It’s entirely too expensive and just not worth it. I know there’s a guy who was making videos and it was always red pen and he was writing it just to make content.

  15. I go to publix to get a hot meal or sub for under $15, even Target has good hot food, heck even Costco has better low cost food. Looks like supermarkets and retailers are taking over the fastfood and restaurant businesses.
