Can you learn to love certain foods? | Millie Bobby Brown | Dish Podcast

Dish from Waitrose returns Wednesday 4th February!

Stranger things have happened… but kicking off Christmas with Millie Bobby Brown at the Dish table feels exactly right!

Millie Bobby Brown became a global name at just 12 when she took on the role of Eleven in Stranger Things. With the final season on the horizon, she joins us fresh from life on her Georgia farm, where she lives with her husband Jake Bongiovi, their new baby daughter, and a rapidly growing collection of animals.

With a firmly organised list of likes and dislikes in hand, Angela goes for a guaranteed hit: Penne alla vodka — the dish Millie and Jake ate on their very first date. Before that comes a bowl of raw baby carrots (her favourite snack) and a Shirley Temple, her go-to celebration drink… and with Christmas officially underway, she’s very much celebrating. The pasta is paired with a glass of Castello Colle Massari Montecucco Rosso Riserva.

Millie is brilliantly honest about her food rules. Cake? Doesn’t care for it. Quinoa? Absolutely pointless. Food photos? A firm no. Edible cookie dough? Only in tiny, tiny portions. We also get some unintentionally excellent life advice from her mum and a glimpse of what comes next beyond Stranger Things. Find all Dish episodes here: https://pod.link/1626354833

  1. "my husband" from Millie took me off guard because in my mind she's mid-late teens at most 😅 they grow up so fast 👴🏼

  2. Irish American here and have loved olives since I was 4 which may have been first introduced ❤

  3. Me too !!! Used to hate them as a kid.. then ate them in Greece and couldn’t stop !! Love them now ❤

  4. Sodium; The draw to "salty" food items, an insatiable desire to consume, is driven by many reasons: Requirement (mineral deficient), addictive (induce euphoria), obligatory (codependency), etc…

  5. I LOVE salty things except I really dislike olives. A good Italian friend bought a range of different types for me to try, but nope, yuk. I'm allergic to all fish/crustaceans, so I have no idea what an anchovy tastes like.

  6. I used to steal the olives out of my neighbors martini when I was little. I found out later she would put in extra just for me😂

  7. I think I maybe had a few as a child and didn’t like them. It was never anything my mother bought so never felt the absence. Got them offered at a friend’s house at an adult and really liked them! So just a matter of my tastebuds growing up in the meantime.

  8. I wish nick had an opinion that is not always the same as his guests. He agrees with them on all likes and dislikes.

  9. As an Italian-American, I’ve always loved olives as well. I grew up eating them quite often.

  10. I literally did the same thing. Always hated them so was determined to train myself to love them.. and now i do 😂

  11. ‘Cold olives’ … yeah she sure loves them 👀💀 I buy jars of cold olives too tbf
