If and when you go back to Lancaster go to Dienner's Country Restaurant Buffet. It's much smaller than Shady Maples, but the food is outstanding.

I have yet to have a great experience at an Amish restaurant. Itās usually just okay. Iāve only been up in Northern Ohio and Indiana though.
I have family in Pennsylvania, and yeah, Amish cooking and snacks are a world of their own. The praise was deserving of the quality, their homemade spreads (like jelly) are awesome, too. All of it is, honestly, and shows you how good mostly unprocessed products can be (and we should have MORE of).

Well, you know why the Amish shoe is so good cause they donāt doctored it up with crap itās homemade heat and you hit it on the nail everything we do in America. Itās too much sugar too much of everything and we donāt do it right no more because we donāt care although Iām not we I do care but Iāll tell you this Americaās literally killing itself for the food that we eat because we donāt demand better one person canāt change, but if the entire country would demand better, you would have better but you donāt care so that being said we keep eating the crap that we keep getting fed anyway I live in Ohio, but Iāve always wanted to get over to Lancaster because thereās a nice big buffet over there
Thatās funny you mentioned Subway that sub that youāre eating believe it or not back in the 90s subway used to make their sandwiches like that and they actually looked that good and they actually tasted that good heck everything 30 or 40 years ago tasted a lot better than it does today it was real food. It wasnāt generic prefab or somehow made from nothing to become something. The food was much better 30 or 40 years ago and yes, shady maple is the place I was talking about.

Having been to a couple Amish weddings, I can tell you the experience is nothing like an "English" wedding. And if you leave hungry, that's your own fault.
