  1. East Asians, particularly those of Korean, Chinese, and Mongolian descent, have the highest prevalence of a non-functional ABCC11 gene, which prevents the production of odor-causing sweat. Over 80% to 95% of East Asians carry this mutation, resulting in dry earwax and a lack of underarm odor.

  2. Yeah, the school I went to did the same thing to me during a field trip day, they sprayed me down w body spray in the bathroom, had me running in body mist too much & said at first that my smell was making it hard for ppl to breathe when I was in 7th grade & my adoptive parents got mad at the school & decided to file complaints & another teacher that was mean that they liked made up things about me & got me sent home before lunch but either way, they made stupid complaints about my smell when I showered the night before & they decided just to give me a hard time, in 8th grade tho, I met a girl who has terrible vision like I do but her's is worse, she started off as a pen pal & she was very nice, I went to Buckeye & she went to Palo Verde & but we met in person before COVID & it was her sophomore year & my senior year & her name was Lizbeth, she was super nice & since her vision is much worse, she has to walk w a stick but as far as Ik, she hasn't gone completely blind yet but Idk, she hasn't been around much

  3. A lot of Asians don't use deodorant. When traveling there I barely had any issue with their scent. I guess it's their own native environment?

However when they go to other countries I did notice a slight difference (not enough to complain. Still are very clean). They sweat differently than most of us.

Took awhile to convince my husband to get some dry scentless deodorant and now that he knows why some people were leaning away from him after exercise since moving here (this man naturally smelled so good he didn't notice a scent change in the Caribbean) he's gifting this to friends and family coming over like the best gift 😂.

He still smelled a lot better than local guys. He had to work out hours to get to that scent. Asian people are very clean and I've learned a lot from him. My skin has never been smoother and healthier.

Yes I rambled but Jake in this story is being ridiculous. Amy had an actual physical condition that caused this issue and the mom helped her out by bringing it up.

Amy sounds like such a good understanding girl so I'm glad her and the mom are close to each other even if Jake is being irrational about the situation.

Imbalances like this can happen to everyone. My mother had it, got help. There's no shame in getting medical aid.

  4. I have badOder too, and I don’t know what to do with it like every single time. I shower two seconds later I’m sweating.

  5. I am Asian too, and my whole family is two and none of us smell so it is not racist and it’s not all Asian people that smell most don’t

  6. If you immediately think somebody has a problem with someone because of their race, when the person stated the problem is a thing that everyone can go through that is racism in itself.

  7. Could be diet i mean when skin pores absorb the scent and aroma of certain foods it sticks to a person and they become an amalgamation of the scent of the food they eat, their lifestyle, if they home is clean etc.

  8. U guys know that korean people are like the people with the least body odour right……like they have some genes that makes them basically not sweat

  9. Okay yea he’s totally projecting cause OP didn’t even mention anything about her being Asian. And anyone from any race can have armpit smell.

  10. My husband is white. He didn't know the differnce between antiperspirant and deodorant. He started asking me to buy the good stuff. No problem anymore. Well, almost. There's the foot odor problem. It's gotten better after 37 years together.

  11. Not realistic. Asian people lack body odor, it's in their DNA.
(This is from what I've heard, don't jump me please 😢)

  12. It is racist to assume that someone is immune from human issues because of their race. Everyone deals with digestive issues. Everyone deals with skin issues. Everyone deals with scalp issues. Everyone deals with emotional issues. Everyone deals with learning challenges…. You get it. Don't put someone on a pedestal and deny them their humanity because of their race. I think Jake is still mad because he, at heart, is dealing with his own racism issues of over-idealism and doesn't know how to face it.
