Microwaves are safe, but the food (especially since it's rice) will taste soooooo much better this way.
My Grams showed me this when a storm cut our power for a week .
We just drape a damp paper towel over the microwave plate cover.

Why is everyone making this about microwave safety. This about about not drying out the fucking food which microwaves are notorious for. Especially with rice and veggies. I wrap a lot of my food in damp towels before microwaving to prevent that but this is a much fancier way to do it😂
