Lemon Loaf and What am I About? #recipe #cooking #lawyer
I am not a robot. So, when people continue to harass me, undermine me, or scare me into changing my content, I do start to wonder whether I’m sabotaging something I’ve spent a decade building. I’m proud of The Korean Vegan. I’m proud of my books. I’m proud of my beauty brand. I’m proud of every thing I’ve created under TKV.
And I do understand that folks who’ve followed me for years might be wondering, “Hey, where did all the cooking content go? I signed up for stories and food and I’m not seeing as much of that anymore…” That is a fair question, and one I’ve been asking myself a lot lately. So, despite the insincerity with which it was asked, I rather liked Vlad’s question:
What are you about?
After mulling it over for some time, I realized the word that sums me up the best is Advocate.
It’s what I did professionally for nearly half my life, and it’s what I’ve done personally since I was a small child—picking fights with bullies on the playground or defending my little brother against our parents (I mean, they were a little outta line with him sometimes!). It just so happens that at 46 years old, I’ve cultivated a lot of skills, collected a lot of stories, built a foundation of life experiences that allow me to advocate in a variety of ways.
For now, that appears to be leaning into Lawyer Joanne. That will likely change again. You see, the beautiful thing about being human is that we aren’t tied to our design—we are the authors of it.

You are an amazing advocate and woman that gives me hope. Evolution and change is the way that all species stay alive. We must change to live and adapt to thrive. Sometimes change is difficult and there are growing pains but we must shine on. And because you adapt and change and try to fulfill needs you thrive. I'm one of your many viewers that watch their videos FOR the legal and political discussions. I'm never going to be a great (or even all that interested) cook because it just isn't my personality. However, I am very interested in your stories. Vlad doesn't speak for me (or many others like me).

I really like this combination of advocacy and food making – because to take care of others you also need to take care of yourself. And seeing you do what you can AND also taking care of yourself with good food makes me believe I can do that too.
Everything is political now Vllad, you are really destroying yourself if you hide from that fact. If you choose to hide or run, it will find you somewhere. Hopefully you will make friends before that happens. Many of us have found each other, because we have nowhere to run. Politics decided where and how and if we get to live, since it controls water, food, and access to medical treatment. Politics decides if people can be safely born or someone will die from not being allowed access to the care and support needed when they have an unviable fetus. Politics decides if we get to live housed or unhoused. Politics decides if our children are grabbed out of their schools and put into cages. Open your eyes and wake up Vllad, none of us get to go down any street without feeling the effects of political decisions. If you can't notice, then you aren't paying attention.

Recent reports (mid-February 2026) have highlighted that the Trump administration has directed USCIS to identify 100 to 200 denaturalization cases per month.
Are there ways this unprecedented executive overreach can be checked? Can this radical shift in "citizenship policy freight train" be stopped by courts or through public advocacy?
I am truly interested in your thoughts on how we can protect the permanence of American citizenship.
