The all American classic Chinese dish. Restaurant style! Delicately fried chicken in sauce with just a hint of orange.

What you’ll need:
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1″ pieces
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup corn starch
1/4 cup flour
1 Tbsp minced ginger root
1 tsp minced garlic (about 2 cloves)
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 cup chopped green onions (2-3 scallions)
zest of 1 orange, minced finely
1/2 tsp sesame oil
oil for frying

sauce:
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 Tbsp + 1 tsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2-3 Tbsp water

Mix cornstarch and flour. Coat chicken pieces in egg then bread in the cornstarch/flour mixture. Fry in 350* oil until golden brown. Set aside.

Mix first 4 ingredients of the sauce and set aside.

In a wok or large skillet, stir fry ginger and garlic in 1 Tbsp oil. After 30 seconds, add red pepper flake and green onion. Stir fry 1 minute. Add in sauce and chicken pieces and bring to a boil. Add corn starch slurry. Turn off heat and mix in orange zest and sesame oil. Serve over rice. Enjoy!
