Can you actually find gourmet meals on Facebook Marketplace? Today, I’m putting the Queen City to the test! I spent an entire day in Charlotte, North Carolina, eating only food found on Marketplace to see if these hidden gems are better than actual restaurants.
From Cuban Pizza and Arabic specialties to lowcountry Soul Food , I’m rating every single plate on a scale of 1-10.

so sad the maqlubeh didn't represent. it means "upside down" in Arabic because you cook it in layers (spiced caramelized onions at the bottom, chicken or meat on top, then cauliflower or eggplant (and sometimes potatoes), then spiced rice. it's then flipped upside down and it takes the shape of the pot. rice is a little bit mushy, but should not be too mushy. served with Arabic salad (finely chopped tomatoes, cucumber, onion, mint/parsley and lemon/EVOO dressing) and sometimes plain Greek yogurt. i'll make it for you some day—but off camera!
