Back on the farm for another Monday cook up and this one was a belter. We got stuck into some proper farm work first, chopping wood and getting the fire cranking, then cooked up something a little different with a rack of veal over the flames, loaded up with a serious crust and paired with fresh produce from around the farm. We also threw on skewers, sausages, pork, chilies, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and more for an unreal spread. To top it all off, I gave one of our Cooking with Volk merch supporters a surprise call and refunded his order as a small thank you for all the support.

Volk close to cutting his foot off! I've a hydraulic log splitter, great piece of kit. Had a few near misses with the axe in the past. Also, no safety gear at all with the chainsaw even though he mentioned it – i always wear safety boots, safety trousers, gloves and a mask. A couple of friends have had mistakes in the past and even a small slip can be really nasty
you really need to learn how to split wood with consistency man that toe is gonna be gone or mangled

Chop all the wood up then put it in a pile and put the hose on it,it will dry faster i know its seems counter productive but it works it draws all the moisture out.
