Best Food in North London? | Sandwiches, Scottish Cafe, Turkish Doner & Indian Pub Food

I’m in North London to find some of the best food in London, from legendary sandwiches in Finsbury Park to Turkish doner, a viral Scottish cafe, and one of the most talked-about Indian pubs in the city.

This is part of my journey to eat in every city in the UK and uncover the best food this country has to offer. Today, we’re in North London, and this one goes deeper than just what’s on the plate.

First stop is Max’s Sandwich Shop in Finsbury Park, home of the famous ham, egg and chips sandwich. I sit down with Max to talk about his story, his food, and how this place became one of the most iconic sandwich spots in London.

Next, I head to The Auld Hag in Angel, a Scottish cafe that’s been blowing up all over social media. Proper Scottish breakfast rolls, square sausage, and ingredients you don’t often see outside of Scotland.

Then it’s over to Harringay for Hassos Doner, serving what many consider one of the best Turkish doner kebabs in London. No shortcuts, just authentic flavour and serious technique.

Finally, I finish at The Tamil Prince in Angel, a South Indian restaurant set inside a North London pub. Dosa, mutton rolls, bold curries, and one of the most exciting places to eat in London right now.

If you’re looking for where to eat in North London, hidden food gems in London, or the best restaurants in North London, this is for you.

  1. Love these videos, if you ever come to Lincoln I’d love to give you some good local recommendations as someone that’s grown up here

  2. The prices in London seem to have gone mad….i appreciate high overheads but £37.50 for lamb chops is taking the mick in my opinion

  3. Hello, thanks to your video we have discovered and tried the Tamil Prince … very pleased! Keep doing what you are doing and we love your genuine personality 😊👍🏻

  4. Oh, the way you squeezed that bap. It's almost erotic 😂😂. Food does look amazing though!
I saw the menu for Veraswamy. 7 quid for a nan bread wtf?! London prices!!

  5. Another great show mate, really looking forward to the whole London series ❤

Love London my Dad was born and raised in Mile End, Tredegar square. Lived there myself for 5 years had the best time of my life!

  6. That jock food looks bleeding awful ,,, but you can get pissed while having your breakfast on that tenets ,,, just like the spoons

  7. You should try this Tamil restaurant that is an Indian tamil global franchise that serves as is in Tamilnadu called "Anjappar". Should try the local favourites ones too like Vasantha Bhavan(Veg) and The Madras Lounge in Wembley.

  8. Can’t believe you was in north London and didn’t try that wing place! Amazing food there have it before and sometimes after arsenal play

  9. The best desi pubs in London in my opinion mate are in northwest London such as regency club, blue ginger and Bombay central. All of the three I’ve mentioned have a East African undertone influenced by the many Indians who lived in east Africa and cos of that all the food is banging.

  10. Have to come to Tooting in SW, so many food spots but most importantly go to Vijaya Krishna – unbelievable South Indian restaurant, simplistic and beautiful

  11. Another banging video. I was born in Scotland but moved to England when I was only 2 and some of my best memories as a kid are going back up to see my grandparents and my Dad always taking us for a morning roll with square sausage at the local caff. He alsot took us to Greenock Morton games but Childline didn't exist in the early 70s haha.

  12. The best Onion Bhajis I've ever had are at a small cafe in Wombwell, Barnsley, South Yorkshire called Lava Cafe. It's only open in the daytime til 3.30pm but they have an Indian inspired menu and are knocking out great food at nice prices. King sized Bhaji for £3 and they do different flavoured ones too with cheese, peri peri, jerk, etc
