  1. Starbucks is what happens when you use a bunch of insecure teens on social media as your source of customers.

    You reap what ya sow

  2. Why would they even post this? Starbucks hasnt ever changed its prices, theyre also really good to their employees. This is the first ive heard of anyone trashing on starbucks for the price getting too expensive when theyre the only company thats kept everything the same price🀣

  3. I would also argued a lot of employees focus on online or drive thur so the people who go in person wait for a longer time plus a larger burn out and lower quality as seen by various reviews by Starbucks that trended after it moved toward the online experience so the premium experience may help in the end lessen those issues but the largest will be always price.

  4. I don't drink coffee, but friends/family in NY area who are tell me Dunkin and McDonald's actually have better coffee and way better prices than Starbucks. Most common complaint being the latter sells burnt coffee.

  5. You guy's need a Tim Hortons. A medium double double(two milk, two sugar) is two dollars CAD or like 2.30$ american. We can get a full meal at Tim's for less then 12 bucks. FYI Starbucks is still like 6 buck coffees over here. I once got just a coffee and a danish there and it was over 15 bucks, would'a been 5 at Tim's. Bloody ridiculous.

  6. I’ve been to Shanghai in 2023 and 2024, and I heard a lot about Luckin Coffee. From what I hear from my aunt and from our experience, Luckin is definitely a fast coffee store. That means it’s cheap, fast, and not the highest quality. But it’s really popular with office workers since it’s fast and convenient.

There’s a big food delivery culture in China, though mostly in the big cities. You can order anything through an app, and Luckin probably gets a lot of profit not only from pickup orders but also through delivery.

Also, Luckin was able to do something Starbucks wasn’t able to do as well, and that is variety. According to my aunt, it’s really hard for a restaurant or drink shop to stay open for a long time because of how quickly young people get bored of things. Because of that, a lot of mainstream fast food restaurants are partly owned by Chinese businesses, including Starbucks. A fast food restaurant in China has to continuously add new and interesting items to maintain interest. But because Luckin had so many options, it maintained interest very well, which is part of why it was so popular. My aunt likes to say that Chinese people like certain tastes in food and drinks (ex: not too sweet, bitter, fragrant, umami) that are not common in the west.

I also heard a rumorβ€”I’m pretty sure it’s true, but I’m not totally sure. When Luckin first entered the coffee shop market, they set their prices low, like extremely low for that time. That helped bring in customers, and because the low prices at Luckin became such a competition, almost every other coffee shop also lowered their prices. This ultimately messed up the coffee market in China, and now you can buy coffee for a low price almost everywhere.

Another possible reason why Luckin has crazy discounts might be because China also recently started a coupon and voucher culture (disclaimer: I’ve only seen this in Shanghai), where you can buy vouchers and get a bunch of coupons. There are a lot of them, especially from drink companies, because the competition is the biggest there.

  7. They changed my starbucks from multiple tables and bar seating to a long cafeteria tables with 2 chairs in the corner. Soooo, nah – brewing my coffee at home and going to study at the library

  8. Luckin is going mobile-app only not to be "anti-starbucks", they want just your data.
They don't need to turn a profit if they can sell your data to their govt.

And you know how muddy waters found out about the fraud? It wasn't following a paper trail, that was after it all went south and investigators came in.
Muddy waters had to camp outside their stores and counted up their sales, cup by cup. And realize it does not match what they report at all. Who is going to count their cups now that they have a gazillion stores?

  9. went to Starbucks today and on my cup they wrote β€œenjoy?” and yea sounds about right for how today went tbh

  10. Panera has much better coffee and it’s about half the cost…Starbucks coffee also tastes Freaking Terrible!

  11. Hire me for CEO, I’ll do it for less than 6 Million. Here’s the plan: dramatic price drops. You’re welcome!

  12. I actually met my current girlfriend through Starbucks she’s a barista and when ever she made the drinks I actually saw a difference she is the goat at my local place. Anyway naturally as one person is she got to know me when I was sad and stressed she wrote a note saying I got fath in u keep up the work. Next day we talked and agreed to meet up and we went to an olive garden wich thank u for starting that joke and now it’s history

  13. I do not know why I feel the need to bring up the fact that many years ago I made up a coffee brand called Space Doe as a direct parallel to Star Bucks and it also has a deer themed logo XD

  14. my favorite coffee chain is dutch bros. but since moved to the north east i cant get it anymore

  15. Well, they're dead here in Australia as they really never understood the Aussie culture. If they don't care about culture, then they're not different to sludge coffee.

  16. i love coffee, but always never liked star bucks. i only been twice because someone else bought my coffee for me
