The Strait of Hormuz Crisis Just Triggered a GLOBAL Food Shock

With talks between the US and Iran falling apart, there will be renewed focus this week on the Strait of Hormuz, getting it open and restoring traffic. Nearly all the focus so far as been on the energy part of the trade equation, the amount crude oil being able to transit the bottleneck. But there is another key set of commodities that are likewise being held back, and most people don’t realize just how big this is. Energy shock, yes, there is also a growing food shock.

  1. I feal like big agg has forgotten what poop plants and wood is or right natural fertilizers that need to slowly brake down over 1 year minimum 7 months and tada black soil gold. But no they just pound the earth for everything it has tell theres nothing left but chemicals poison and zero nutrients left.

  2. It’s all because Iran wants nuclear weapons and ICBM’s to destroy the U.S. If Iran was a normal country, like Norway, there would be no war.

  3. to be honest not the worst news on an individual level if you have family that has experience in agriculture or are farmers its relatively fine and im talking about sustainable farms not where you import masses of fertilizer for commercial sale though risk is based on individual environment and access.

  4. I have a 75 gallon fresh water aquarium. I use the water to fertilize my plants, garden etc. I also have a large compost bin in my backyard that has been established for around 20 yrs. One may not be able to do much about Mass famine or the shortage of fertilizer for commercial growth but you can utilize many common household items to at least keep your Gardens fertilized. God bless ✝️💌🇨🇦

  5. UREA is urine … best fertilizer comes out of every human being ALL THE TIME => no shortage of urine!!!

  6. Weird. It's almost like that isn't a good way to grow food.

Personal and community permaculture. This isn't going to hit me or my neighbors like it's going to hit most of the world. Good luck out there folks.

  7. You're right, it's too late. People can't possibly figure out how to grow organically! 😅😂. Idiots, everywhere!

  8. … my tax refund was smaller than last year. Where are you getting these numbers..? almost 6-figure income, US.

  9. Why doesnt everyone convert to organix farming so no one is dependant on oil in the future ? I underatsnd ita much more expensive… but we can just move subsidies from confential to oranic. Add subsidies, expand farm space, no chemicals

  10. geez. i wonder who fertilizes all the forests around the world to make them grow? all the shrubs, weeds and grass? man give then a raise.
