Can We Survive Restaurant Service in a 5 Star Hotel?

Our three home cooks step up to deliver food for a major charity event, cooking under pressure in the iconic kitchen at The Landmark London, with high expectations, real guests, and no room for mistakes. Can they pull off an unforgettable service for the DEBRA Butterfly Ball?

This is a REAL test of teamwork and restaurant-level cooking as the guys leave their comfort zone and attempt to cater a prestigious event in support of DEBRA, the charity supporting people living with epidermolysis bullosa (EB). Expect chaos, pressure and plenty of surprising moments as the team take on the most demanding challenges they’ve ever faced.

  1. A beautiful culmination of years of effort, friendship and unity. Sometimes videos are hammed up a bit for entertainment purposes, but this was actual work and at one of the higher levels. I wonder if any of the three would or are considering formally taking it up?

  2. I feel like mike deserves every opportunity like this, he always shows so much appreciation and willingness to learn

  3. It’s a shame they did so little to contribute to the dishes really, I’d have liked to have seen more from them given their 15 years experience. Garnishing with pea shoots? Peeling eggs? Really?

  4. Great job, boys! You all did well, but honestly Mike especially seemed to flourish with the tasks he was given! And the pastry chef seemed incredibly patient and happy to teach as well.

  5. This was a LONG day for the guys and they killed it!! My lower back and feet hurt just thinking about it. I’m so proud of them all! I will join in on the conversation and say Mike definitely took it to a whole new level of dedication. So proud of all 3 of you 💜

  6. I bloody LOVE Tom Holland and, if y’all can manage it, PLEASE GET HIM IN ON A POKER FACE!!! 💕

  7. OK MIKE WE SEE YOU BEING AN ACTUAL PASTRY CHEF!! I must agree that I'm slightly emotional watching the guys in this video. Been a MASSIVE Sorted fan for a long time now and being able to see the guys be so proud of themselves after working so hard at such a high, intense level simply reminds me why I started watching those silly food battles I stumbled upon over a decade ago! 😀

  8. Fantastic job, all. I was surprised they didn't go the white glove approach when handling the chocolates, but c'est la vie. Many reminders of my time working the kitchens back in the day. Many a mini cheesecake didn't survive the offset spatula. :p

If you're looking, here's a pitch: as someone tragically stuck on the low-residue, low FODMAP diet, I'd love to bring awareness to it and challenge the normals (or the chefs) to design a 3 course meal around it. As a foodie, it's certainly been a difficult adjustment.

  9. Chef Ben, this is off subject for the video. I have been watching you before Covid. I want to ask a question. Everything I see today from Chef YouTubers say add mustard to make a mayonnaise. I swear I have seen Chefs make mayonnaise with just egg yoke and oil, with a stick blender and even by hand but it’s hard by hand. Which was once the test of a chelf. It’s not shelf stable and meant to be eaten in the moment.

  10. First thing… Barry and Jamie are being shown the playing and Barry touches his face/beard. Keep your hands clean, Barry! You’re touching people’s food.

  11. This felt like an emotional season finale to a show that aired for 15 years. All the work for an episode outside the set. The stakes, the context, the fear and the triumph.

    The Bear could never.

  12. Curious about the Indian chef who taught them about the souffle… doesn’t sound Native Indian but more…Malaysian/Singaporean.

  13. Well done, boys! I'd like to see more of this kind of challenge, gradually stepping up until you're someday comfortable being dropped into a line with dozens of dishes on offer. But like you said: "not for a while". Earned yourself a break, i think. Looking forward to another global food challenge video!
