Baton Rouge Food Tour Pt.1 | Trying Parrain’s Seafood
I’m kicking off my Baton Rouge Food Tour with a massive question: Does BR actually have the best food in the state? To find out, I went straight to the source. I hopped on Instagram and asked the locals where I had to eat, and one name absolutely took over my mentions.
In today’s episode, we are heading to Parrain’s Seafood Restaurant. As the most requested spot on my post, the expectations are sky-high. From the atmosphere to the fresh catch, I’m diving deep to see if this local staple lives up to the viral hype.
Is it a “must-visit” or just a tourist trap? Let’s find out.

no take-backs/refunds?
I'm boiling crawfish at Cypress Coast today (Friday, 4pm), at OxBow tomorrow (2pm), and Sunday at Radio Bar (4pm). We're a pop up named Smoke & Boil and have been nominated every year since 2023 for Best of 225. Come by, say hi!
You don’t get a lot of seasoning because people have diabetes
That whole shebang platter ain’t no joke and those grilled oysters are on hot
I live in Thiboduax, and I fine majority of seafood restaurants are just basic and ok. You get much better food from home cooks.

Everybody that eat there can't have a lot of seasoning. Some people have an illness. You have to consider other people's feelings when it comes down to season food. I'm very sorry, it didn't meet your taste. You can always add to but, you can't take away.
