‘Beyond awkward, inappropriate’: Trump to attend WH Press Correspondents’ Dinner

For the first time in his two terms as president, President Trump will attend the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, a tradition dating back to 1921 that was intended to build relationships between the president and reporters, as well as champion the First Amendment and press freedom. But the president’s debut comes at a time when that relationship with the press is more combative than ever. Fallon Gallagher discusses.

  1. My long standing question (for those who possess better than average political legal knowledge) is simply this….Is it legal for an individual who was IMPEACHED MULTIPLE TIMES to be eligible to be elected President of the United States?! Based upon everything I can find Trump shouldn't even be in office.

  2. I dream of the day when the Trump family is irrelevant and does not even make the news, except maybe a televised trial here and there.

  3. Everyone else should just not go. I mean, c'mon – this response is OBVIOUS AF. I will be very disappointed in anyone who GOES!

  4. Why not simply continue to hold a Press Correspondents dinner every year, without inviting anyone from the Trump regime or its propaganda network?

  5. You sound childish saying "the hottest parties in DC". This is supposed to be a news show, lady…not a two-bit what's hot what's not tripe show! Go cover fashion week if you want in and out culture.

  6. I know it would be going against the grain for the press, but it would be so great if nobody showed up 😅

  7. He just can't help himself. HE HAS TO BE the center of attention. I would NOT give him my attention. No dinner is worth it.

  8. Cant wait to see that.
Trump cant take a joke unless hes making the sarcasm. Hes a coward & a whiner.

  9. Its an attempted intimidation tactic. If he gets relentlessly roasted to his face the press will have done its job. If they all glaze him the free press concept is dead. Time to stand on principle journalists.

  10. Aw c’mon, don’t you think Dementia Don can measure up to the show President Obama put on with Trump bearing the brunt?😹😹😹

  11. This bloated phony blowhard liar is the WORST thing that has ever happend to this country. Senate and Congress stand by and let him RUIN this nation and refuse to do anything about it.

  12. If you oppress the press there is to much shady stuff to hide. The swamps getting bigger and bigger …

  13. it's not weird. you, the press, should do what u should have already done, stop reporting on this fukery. don't go to the thing. create a diff avenue that night. stop providing him more space to spew his lies and bullshyt. just stop. at this point you all are complicit.

  14. The Red Dinner:
Trump calls for the national guard to open fire on journalists mid dinner due to acts of Treason as determined by himself in the moment.
Supreme Court says it was his call to make.

  15. Trump's idea of humor is to demean others, then sneer at them. He doesn't laugh. He smiles a crooked smile and walks a crooked mile. Oh wait, he couldn't walk a mile. (I smile crookedly to myself.)

  16. MAGA comedian?!! What an oxymoron!
MAGA aren’t creative enough to write a joke, because they are the joke!

  17. No kidding – why??? Does he think the press has soo much fear of him now that the correspondents wouldn't make jokes about him?!?!?
