Today was a peaceful day of village work and traditional cooking. My mother and sister fed the cows while my mother collected fresh leaves and flowers from the trees to make a delicious herbal tea.

I prepared the firewood and lit the clay oven. Then I roasted flour with oil over the fire and mixed sugar with water to make a sweet syrup. After the syrup was ready, I combined it with the roasted flour to make a soft and flavorful halva.

My mother prepared the dough, and I filled the dough pieces with halva. Together we baked many sweet halva breads and some simple village breads in the traditional clay oven. When everything was ready, we enjoyed our freshly baked bread and warm herbal tea together.
