Can Veg Beat Non Veg Breakfast in Assam? 🤔 🐟🥦

Assam surprised me in the best possible way with its breakfast culture. From seera with milk on the world’s largest river island to simple home style veg plates in Guwahati, the vegetarian side started strong and full of comfort.

But then came the non vegetarian breakfast. Mutton early in the morning, egg curry with roti, and local flavours that showed how different breakfast looks across India compared to what most of us are used to eating every day.

This video is part of my journey of eating across all states of India to understand local food habits one meal at a time. And this time the question was simple. Can veg beat non veg in Assam breakfast?

  2. What I like about you the most is that you relish the cheap food so beautifully, despite of the fact that you have tasted so many expensive dishes. 💖

  3. Yaa we do eat rice in breakfast with sometimes veg curry. Yes curry with rice on breakfast.

Our women's are working women and they have to leave home for field work as early as possible thatz y we need heavy meal bec our women have no time to come back and cook for chota chota bhuk. Our women's are working women no matter in ancient they work on filed and now on corporates and gov . So yaaa we still eat heavy breakfast like rice and curry.

Unlike North where women's are only made for kitchen and only kitchen and have lots and lots of time to make Chai , breakfast , lunch tea time , chote chote bhuk k liye snacks papar belnaa pura din yehii toh hai. But nahh we dnt have time for that shit.

  4. Assamese food is indeed Heaven for non-spicy lovers! Here the Thali's are absolutely amazing. Ingredients also are so much fresher and better than what you get in the metros. Like someone said in New York, you get stale food everywhere. In metros, food has become a business nowadays. Love from Guwahati. Welcome to the Gateway of Northeast India🪷🪷🩷🩷
