Good afternoon ThreeFiddy from a goofy 26C Sunny North London…So sad to see you with a woolen overcoat… You should be in T Shirts and Shorts by now…Langan is Iconic Name.. I love Duck but mainly the Chinese way of cooking sorry (as it removes a lot of fat?)
Given the fine afternoon London weather I hope you are out and about filming scenic sights of your home town Greenwich and the delights Deptford
I used to go there back in the day, it had great buzz… they had the Venetian room upstairs where celebrities could have more privacy .. I remember Odins also with its over the top decor .. very 80s .. thanks for the enjoyable review
You didn't really say whether you enjoyed it or not.
they always try to get you to pay more in a set menu, you have to resist !
was it worth £100 ?
I can see what you mean about no excitement, given it is the poshy part of town, it seemed like dinner in a three star hotel restaurant. I have noticed, in this and other videos, that you may have a fish starter and then a meat main dish or vice versa. Here in Italy that is absolutely not the thing to do, mixing fish and meat is seen as something that goes against any good dining habit. As much as I love London, I don't think Langley's will be one of my choices, the salmon was really nothing special to justify a plate, it's the sort of thing I would put on a plate at home for a quick lunch. Thanks for sharing, and for a dinner in London.
Again I commend you for forwarding the cause of solo diners. In regards to solo dining, have you ever been refused entry (when not reserved) based on the fact that you're solo, I've had this experience abroad, just wondering if it's the same here?
I remember Peter lying drunk in a chair. nobody said anything…
Bob, I don't even like duck, but the confit of duck you had looked delicious. You are truly a bon' vivant ! I always enjoy your videos and look forward to your next post. Best wishes from America! 🦆🍷⚜️
That looked like a decent meal for the money.
Utterly YUMMY and exciting.
I knew you couldn't stay away from Mayfair for long! 😀 I can't talk as I was in Mercato Mayfair the other day checking out all the food stalls, worth a visit. I used to pass Langans everyday as I did a Law summer placement in a firm on Stratton St, but alas then we never had the money to go in so glad I got to see the inside at last, duck and mash looked great.
Excellent 👌 thanks 🥂👏👏👏
Very enjoyable. The duck was worth the eating. Choux pastry a favourite of mine. Bravo once again sir
Yay!!! Another fantastic food review by this kind, humble, thorough gentleman. Thank you!!
Interested to know why you’re not into Michelin starred places
Nouveau cuisine? Surely nouvelle? Red wine with fish? Salt grinder? It’s patently a pepper grinder! Your editing eyes are a bit lacking. I’m sorry but you are unwatchable matey. Managed 5 mins then gave up!
Hi Bob. First of all, I haven`t neglected you and have viewed your last three videos, giving them all a well deserved thumbs up. I`ve been a bit pushed for time of late, but managed to watch your review of Langan`s this morning (01:30 hrs), as I am an habitual night owl. Yet another "older" London culinary institution! Well done old chap. I know it takes both time and money… not to mention patience in editing your videos, but I assure you, that the majority of your viewers appreciate the effort you put into them. Thank you. As always, I am eagerly looking forward to your next immersive food experience. Bon appétit! Regards: Tony. 🍾
20:10 As much as celebrities may dread interacting with the paparazzi, they also need them.
