They all look absolutely delicious 😋
Omg, this looks like Christmas to me! 😅😋😋😋
I truly love your channel but not a person in my home does beans.
It must be something about those 80+ yr Grammy's. My mother-in-law is 88 & she can out do me
Always salt beans at the end after they've cooked. That used to be the #1 well-known rule in Appalachia when cooking beans, but no one tells you that anymore. It can prevent them from getting tender, don't ask me why, must be a chemical reaction. But keep them beans stirred the whole time to thicken the broth so it won't be watery. A spoon of that bacon grease would have been good in that cornbread skillet too, but flip your cornbread out upside down on a plate immediately after pulling it out of the oven. Never leave it in the skillet like that, or it will steam and can make it stick. But most importantly, you want your crust to be crunchy. It still looks delicious! Just a couple tips, I was raised in E. TN too, so I do know a couple things 😉
When I was young my best friends mother was from Tennessee. She would make soup beans and cornbread. It was absolutely delicious. I always wanted to eat over at her house. Even midwesterners love soup beans. Thank you for bringing up a great childhood memory. Your grandmother is beautiful, thank you for sharing her with us. ❤
Yummy
I love gospel singing times with family.
I very rarely comment, however, your Sunday suppers never disappoint and this one included. Wow! Looked amazing. I am from Texas and growing up we always had Sunday supper as well. Thanks for sharing a little of your Mamaw with us, hearing her sing hymns warmed my soul. My granny was a strong Christian lady and I really miss her. I learned alot of my cooking from her as well. It is very humbling to see you still carrying out the tradition of having a wonderful meal and sitting around the table with your family. My kids are all grown and on their own but,I too carried it out with them. This is how all families should have supper in my opinion, Im just so grateful that we got too. 🙏🥰
I can honestly say that I have never had or been offered hit fried lettuce. I've never heard the name Kilt Lettuce either. I've lived from Maine to Florida, over to Oklahoma and up to Michigan. Pennsylvania Dutch country had some unusual dishes but I've never seen Kilt lettuce. That's a new one. Cooked cabbage with the bacon and fixings, but never lettuce.
Well wasn’t that an adventure, thanks for sharing
Yummy!
I've never seen self rising corn meal.
Looks good!
I love when you call the beans soup beans. I’m sure I had other things at my grandma’s house, but I swanny all I remember is soup beans, cornbread, fresh tomatoes, and green onions. Always my favorite meal🩷
May God continue to Bless your family and your Mamaw
You should've showed more of your mamaw and them singing on the porch. My eyes welling up with tears that was so beautiful and it shows how we have family in Christ that we don't even know about. So what if the show runs a little longer, I love watching your show anyways! Thank you for that little piece of heaven, it warmed my heart and i needed that❤️
😁👍💚 I MADE YOUR OTHER BAKED BEANS RECIPE. THE BQ ONES! DELICIOUS!! EVEN THOUGH CANNED BEANS WERE USED, TASTE HOMEMADE THANKS! FOR SHARING!🫠
We’ve always called it wilted lettuce.
Yum
I really pray my kids still come over for Sunday supper when they’re grown and move out of my house. I have two teenage girls and they’re mamas girls I pray that never changes. Bring me the grandbabies to snuggle and I will cook whatever you want! ❤ Getting older is a privilege not afforded to some. My dad’s sister passed at 32 from cancer and you remind me so much of her, that’s why I started watching you fun fact! You look like my aunt Dana. Love to your family this week my dear.
These are my favorite videos, love the Sunday suppers. Love the dance!! 💃💃
Love Sunday Suppers
Whew, that Goya ham seasoning packets are 1.98 each in my area. It is cheaper for me just to buy the white beans that have the ham seasoning packets in it. Is there somewhere you know of that I can buy them online cheaper?
Beautiful food. I love beans.
Small shakey shake? Girl that was like half a cup 😂
Brooke the potato skin has most nutrients
Your grandma singing was really great❤
Good evening Southern Momma. You made quite a spread for Sunday supper. It looked beautifully done. ❤ I could tell your family enjoyed their food. Take care c and have a blessed night, dear.
All this looks wonderful! Love, love, love Ryder's nails, too! My son prefers his in shades of blue and green, lol.
I pour my heated oil over into the cornbread batter and stir it in, then pour it all back over into the skillet. Never knew there were other ways to do it til I was in my early 30s. 😂
❤👍🙏
Sweetheart. Instead of all that sugar added to ur strawberries. Add a 3.4 Oz box of strawberry powder to them and cook ur strawberries on a low simmer for like 20 minutes. They still come out sweetened and the juice will still thicken up without the sugar. I do this method when I make strawberry yum yum. 😋
GOD BLESS US ALL SWEETHEART XOXOXOXOXOXOXO HALLELUJAH AMEN 🙏
I don't think you did anything wrong with the cake… It was probably the humidity in the room from the fried potatoes. 😊
I would love to see a video of all the ways you do kilt lettuce. My grandma would make this and when I was little it was the only way I'd eat lettuce. 😂 But, I've never been able to figure out how she did it.
Wilted lettuce was my FAAAAAVORITE! growing up! My grandma would make it all summer with the abundance of lettuce and green onions my grandpa grew in the garden. Just told my husband we should make some with our garden harvests this summer, and he’d NEVER had it! 😮. We grew up in the same town even.
