48 Hours Eating LA’s Most ICONIC Food!
I travelled to Los Angeles to find the best food in one of America’s most famous food cities, from Venice Beach empanadas to tacos, BBQ, hot chicken and burgers.
This is part of my journey across all 16 host cities for the 2026 World Cup, where I’m trying to find out which city has the best food in North America.
For this episode, I’m in Los Angeles, a city people think they know because of Hollywood, beaches and celebrities. But away from all of that, LA is one of the most exciting food cities in the world. It’s a place shaped by Mexican food culture, immigrant communities, street food, old-school institutions, modern chefs and neighbourhood spots that locals genuinely love.
I started at Rico’s Empanadas on Venice Beach for some incredible Argentinian comfort food, before heading to the legendary Pink’s Hot Dogs to try a proper spread from one of LA’s most iconic food spots.
Then it was over to The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills for their famous sandwiches, before diving into one of the city’s biggest food obsessions: tacos. I went to Brothers Cousins for some of LA’s best street tacos, then met up with LA Taco to hunt down more authentic Mexican food at Simon and Alejandra’s Quesadillas.
After that, I went to Sonny’s Pizza for a spicy pepperoni, Adam Perry Lang’s for some ridiculous BBQ, Howlin’ Ray’s for LA’s famous hot chicken, and finished with what might be the best smash burger in Los Angeles at For The Win.
This is Los Angeles through its food. Not the polished Hollywood version, but the real city: tacos on the street, sandwiches in Beverly Hills, hot chicken in Chinatown, BBQ, burgers, pizza and the kind of places that make LA one of the best food cities in America.
Watch the full series as I travel to every 2026 World Cup host city to find out where has the best food.

Too long these videos!!
Just watch food network for similar content!!
Strange how all the food is amazing, which, it could very well be, I'm calling rubbish on the chicken tho. American chlorinated chicken is woeful, they're also too big which makes you think wtf else are they doing to it!
Not bad content but personally would want to see some bad spots aswell!!
Production is very good for a YouTube channel tho!
I'll be honest, when I first came across your channel it didn't really do it for me. Decided to give it another go because I liked this concept and you've really grown into it. Thouroughly enjoyed the New York series!
Bro how many hot dogs did you eat 😅
That wing was like a hug from Jimmy Saville warm yet wrong!
This is what we need, pure & raw. The real LA food
Definitely would have visited San Gabriel valley in LA for amazing Asian food.
The Cheese Store segment is proper travel doc filmmaking, you’re smashing this 🙌🏻❤️
GM, firestone, and a bunch of other automobile industry giants bought up all the railway systems to inevitably get rid of them and replace them with buses. truly evil stuff. LA had the best public transportation before all that happened. learned all this because a movie called Looney Tunes: Back in Action is based on this topic
Mate what a stunning video ❤ Every bit of food looked sexy even cactus 😮
Great vlog Big J. Wish I had known about the cheese sbop when I worked at Variety on Wilshire Bvd. Fascinating cos US don't each much lamb.
@Onlyscrans Jono this is tortuous to watch 🤦♂️😂 Salivating and stomach rumbling isn’t the best way to enjoy this wonderfully entertaining series 🤦♂️😂🇮🇪 Atb Tony 🙌🙌
Well.. technically LA is not a city built by immigrants bc many mexicans already lived there before it was USA, they didn’t move
I’m jealous 😫 I need some of that food, like this min rn🤤🤤
I’m so hungry I want a chili dog and some onion rings and cheese fries
i wanna go to LA one day!
Amazing ❤
This needs to be a TV show/segment. You need to be in tv ASAP!!! Great job John ❤
Absolutely love your videos man. The vibes are unmatched. Keep up the good work brother you’re goin to the moon!
Mate, this is quality. I've never felt the need to go LA but all those tacos 🌮😍
Come back and visit again. There's so much more that you missed!
