Is This Michelin Restaurant OVERHYPED?
Today I visit one of Bristol’s most hyped restaurants – Root
Situated in the Cargo complex, it focuses on a veg led menu, with some interesting sounding options.
But will I root out any problems?

Kind of think they'd be better served offering 3 smaller plates as a starter; more tapas size for the starters, seemed a lot of food for any portion. Nice to see some real choice for alternative diets.
I think that looked decidedly average.
Nothing too much to complain about , but not inspiring either.
I love what they're trying food-wise, but the place was a bit noisy for my liking, and them not spreading people out more seems peculiar.
More tasty delights from the Greeno. All good stuff
I would definitely try the dish with the beetroot in. Another great upload 🎉🎉❤.
"Gordon Ramsay here, you're taking a leek!' I'm going on my first cruise with Evan from Family at Sea and 2 other cruise virgins (my friends from Haiti). They like eating dogs and cats (according to tRump and Shady). It's only a 3 hr mini dinner cruise with AML, Quebec City. St John, New Brunswick uses those cargo containers for food and vending stalls.
Not for me, don't like onion, beetroot or anything like that lol. I can see how a lot of people would like it though. They have done some well thought out dishes, glad you enjoyed it for the most part. I agree that one dish looked like oatmeal and didn't look the best. The other dishes were presented much better!
Vegan resto, spoiled bratty kids : normal.
I can see these are not going to be common dishes! Not to my taste methinks! Not my favourite ingredients.
But it certainly is something to perhaps try as an experiment.
Thanks Greeno!
I don't think
I've never seen batter fried scallions before. Looks interesting, rather than just being sliced for garnish. I seldom eat anything vegetarian, unless it's maybe a biryani or fried rice with no animal flesh in it. Hands down, my fave dish that counts as vegetarian, though, is a nice Welsh Rarebit. That's total comfort food. Ditto, potato leek soup, if made with veggie broth, not chicken broth, but that leek thing you got looked … weird.
HI Greeno,Glad you enjoyed that food ,for me I love my meat to much so sorry not into Vegan or Veggie food but would eat a salad as long as meat was there.
Thank you for sharing
Greeno, get your glasses tightened.
"no mushrooms on this menu at all!" he says waving the menu with a drawing of a mushroom on it. 😆
LIked the look of the spring onions but I'd have walked at the sight of the leek thing! XD
ooh that beetroot dish looked beautiful, i am a diabetic type 2 so i have celeriac alot,i make chips with it,baked like roast potatoes i basically use it in place of potatoes (low carbs) just cook it the same as you would normal roast potatoes and chips cut them up pop it in the oven with olive oil ,lovely jubbly.Pudding looked great too Greeno x
I'm the 500th like ❤
7 of 10 and tasty.
Great review Greeno the spring onions looks nice and the baby food thing no thanks and the beetroot looks nice and the sponge looked nice and you definitely scored it about right 👍👍
Where's the Dunlop Green Flash recommended restaurants? It was a tyre manufacturer which took a wrong turn with regards to diversification. Read it and weep, Dunlop.
Great video and interesting food. Veggi dishes can be really tasty. Cheers 😀👍
I guess for something completely different its decent.worth trying once agree about the Leek with Egg in it reminded me of Japanese Food.7/10 is a fair review😅
Not for me I'm afraid and the background noise would drive me bananas.
Imaginative food, got to agree. But, that's where it ends for me. There's no cooking really, this is going to sound bad but the main, I can see that on a fast food chain healthy choice. Sometimes Greeno it's not the food it's watching the reviewer thats the star
As a vegetarian I really appreciate you highlighting this restaurants food. Unfortunately, I would not enjoy a meal in what sounds like a creche. Particularly for an evening meal. The ambience of a restaurant is part of the experience. I would hate it.😢
I'm amazed at the combination of ingredients in each dish.Really fantastic. A great menu including a couple of fish dishes too . I would like to give one of these places a go as they are becoming more and more popular. Enjoyed watching, thanks very much.
Yay!! My home town. Nice to eat in but you can't beat a meal deal on a bench along by the ship Great Britain
I think you are being generous.
When I saw that leek dish – yeah, no🤮
Hi Greeno, I agree with your comment about the seating…….customers should be able, within reason, to choose where they would like to be seated…….🙏
